Deadly handsome undine with attraction to the deep ocean. Looking for discovery and fighting against Death itself
Raised in the small Undine's village around the DeepWater lake.
Dark blue skin.
I am Odros DarkWarter, a deadly handsome undine. I am starting an adventure on the ocean to discover its immensity and fight against Death itself.
I have azure hairs, emerald eyes and a dark blue skin inherited from my family ancestors. Son of Amber DarkWater and Kurant DarkWater
Raised in the small Undine's village around the DeepWater lake. The lake was the playground of all children where we enjoyed the harmony of the fauna & flora. Growing up, I began to be tired of this lake I knew by heart. The previous dragons of my childhood transformed in herbivorous lizard when my knowledge grew. At some point, I even dreamed that the lake was a bit more dangerous to have more adventure exploring it. Little did I know that I would regret those thoughts few years latter.
I was taught by my parents the art of saving life through surgery. My people keen sensibility to water allowed us to expertise in the medicine field. However, I lacked the dexterity to wield my tools when the Raft happened 10 years ago. On this night shadows attacked our village, capturing many and wounding more. We fled in the water escaping those monstrosities, however never would we have thought that they used an incurable poison when inflicting their wounds. We had to remove infected flesh, amputate. Many injured succumbed to this and my inability to perform effectively that night did not help in reducing the casualties number.
Since then I drastically changed. I was haunted by the picture of those riders of death attacking my family and I decided to prepare. Through this I accidentally distanced myself form the survivors. First, I engaged with the hunting team, who gathered food from the lack. I also studied even more the ancestral techniques to save people using our knife as the most sophisticated scalpel. Quickly the lake environment was too confined too progress and I knew danger would not come from the lake but from outside. While no hunters went usually to hunt in the jungle outside the lake area, I decided to learn there suppressing my fear of the unknown. This period came with a lot of dangers and wounds but I learned to used the jungles and creeper environment with more ease adapting to a ground (or above) battle. From this time, I learned a distinctive trait of my people, the ability to heal when submerged in deep water.
When I turned 18, I learned of other sentient being while roaming in the jungle. Returning to the village to inform them, I learned from them that they should be humans who usually leaves by the other side of the jungle. There are not evil but tends to each be really different from saint to treacherous merchants. I decided to learn more about them and tracked them in the jungle. I discovered they were looking for ruins but because of their long travel without findings they planned on going back. I decided to travel with them and packed my self with provisions and my hunter's tool with a return trip from the village. My decision was perceived differently between my people. My parents did not want me to go as they thought it was unsafe. My friend Frost WarmWater, he was jealous of me as he could not leave with him since he was the next to be tribe chief after his father death in battle. On the opposite, Pearl BlueWater criticized me for leaving the village when we needed more people to reconstruct it and considered me a selfish person.
This travel was easier than I thought. They reached a river coming from a far away mountain. I never went this far (40km) from the village but I was glad to discover such another large source of water. The river's flow was something new for me as it showed a path for me while our lake was a resting giant for eternity. The humans embarked a big ship (really small in human standards) to follow the current. I was lucky that they let the current push the boat rather than using their sails, it allowed me to follow them swimming. I discovered new species during this trip not all friendly but my underwater agility allowed me to escape or even hunt them. After 3 days at this slow pace, we finally arrived at a huge village, actually a human city that was settled at the mouth of the river. I would learn later that Bois Mouillé was not even considered a city by humans but simply a village (300 people) while Port Aventure was the main city of this island. The taste of water changed it became salty. I decided to observe those humans and other races living in this city busting with activity.
It took me few days to decide to explore the lands of this city. I though my appearance was going to be a shock but most people were too occupied to give any more time than a quick look at my rustic equipments. It was through my walking that I arrived in a higher place offering a wide view on the rest of the city and on the port area. I discovered at this moment a humongous water area that was continuing further than my eyesight could encompass. Its water were not the usual blue-green color but a scintillating deep azure color. It was my first encounter with the Ocean.
I decided to become the link between this village and our tribe. I discovered professions I never would have imagined and was particularity interested in the sailors (fishermen) who came back from the sea to tell their story. I understood the Ocean as the opposite of our enclosed lake. Chaotically changing, full of danger. It was an adventure I needed to prepare for.
My hunter past and extreme agility allowed me to perform as a rogue who gathered information. My surgeon dogma and my hate towards death prevented me from hurting people so I developed stealth skills using my undine features to camouflage in this port environment. I also gained money at a dwarf shop who bought the products brought from the Undine village. This dwarf was called Loktar PetiteTaille and had also good contacts in the rogue guild of Port Aventure. I learned from him that technology in the outer world where more developed than our village and I quickly upgraded my equipments. He introduced me to a teacher Rogus Pacache who was extremely great in the "art" of thievery. He was mischievous and disliked my restrained behavior considering taking a life but this changed. I was aware of the importance of grinding my skills if I wanted to achieve my goals, especially understanding how I lacking i was. But to be honest i delayed my travel because of the proximity to my village, the loving protection of Loktar and this new environment. It seemed as a bandage to my soul. But it would not last. I made some friends while roaming the human village and one them was a girl, Kayla Nopast. I did not think of the other sex before but the appeasing environment helped me to think of it and explore some of it aspects. But it did not last. Humans are not to be all trusted, monsters hide among them. I was to meet with Kayla to then hang out in the port. I found her laying in an alley raped, ripped open. I could not do anything to save her, I only held her hand while she was dying. I promised myself once more that I should fight my all against Death and some time to destroy the source of death was more useful than repairing its damages. It took me few months to find them but on one night I sliced out the rotten fruits to protect the tree.
After 3 years of grinding, I am now a budding rogue ready to set sail on the far Ocean. I already experienced sailing but only on fishing boat not going on the deep sea. I am cold and calculating in my every word and action, even when furious or frightened.
I am waging a personal war on death itself and recently I learned of monstrous activity on the ocean.
As If the World was sending me his pushing wind, Loktar decided to move to Port Aventure to open his smithy after some doubts in the village appeared on the origin of his stolen products. I went with him as soon as I arrived in this huge city I inquired about possible living boats in the harbor and went to the XX inn to gather information before setting sail...
