Wild West Justice
The trip from Osage Mission to Parsons was uneventful, and a bit uncomfortable due to the winter weather. After warming up at the hotel, the company checked in with the Chief Constable in the hopes of finding more information about the missing Doctor. While he had no particular information to share on Dr. York, he did mention that a local Dr. Lane had also gone missing after a summons to help a local farmer family.
The connection was tenuous, but was the best we had at the moment so we trekked out to his home, and spoke with the family of the ill child. While it was a bit of a mystery as to what had become of J.H. Lane, there was no revealed connection to Dr. York so it came to nothing in the end.
Checking about town, we did find that Dr. York had a meal at the Sunrise, and the bartender had pointed him to a local shop for cigars. Following up, we discovered that Dr. York had only stayed in Parsons briefly and was planning to put in for the night at the Bender Inn near Cherryvale.
The company was also witness to a murder in the street, apparently committed by the local school teacher and killing his own father-in-law. Mumple was quite keen to recapture the man and was more than willing to help lead a posse, but it became clear that the Constable and his men didn't feel any particular urgency in the matter. In the end, a some local vigilante group known as "The Wigglers" was said to put an end to it.
