Physical Description

Fit, if a little underfed from an adolescence just getting by hunting and foraging and scraping by on odd jobs. She's filled out more since leaving the north and finding consistent food and money in the south with the party.

Body Features

A fair amount of scars:

• a scattering of four star-shaped scars on her abdomen from a hunting accident as a teenager


• two star shaped scars on the back from the same accident


• cut marks on the palm, wrist, and inner elbow of her right arm, used for bloodletting in magic

Facial Features

Fairly fox-faced, though with stronger brows.

Identifying Characteristics

Red eyes and hair are markedly unusual in this region of the world and make it easy to pick her out of a crowd.

Apparel & Accessories

A specially crafted baby blanket turned shawl; it is dyed the distinctive teal of Steinhlid and embroidered with red patterns and runes that shift to tell new stories and spell out new prayers. Kjra always wears this on her person in some way.

• Tove Karhu: Kjra's begrudging bodyguard from her birth clan in the north. She knows he did something to earn this pseudo-exile, but not what specifically. Their relationship started off rocky, but it has developed into reluctant respect and friendship.


• Cielmer: gentle boy scary boy Kjra trusts his insights more than others, especially now that she has the mental clarity to follow.


• Roger: a smuggler and a cad. No one seems to know his background, but, coming from a sketchy background herself, Kjra is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.


• Gavin & Kara in Inverness: fellow Beastkeepers and good friends. They connected over their mutual half-breed nature and orphaned childhoods. Kjra left Clawtiger in Gavin's care.


• Clawtiger: a dire leopard Kjra lured into companionship. He and Tove have a tumultuous relationship.


• Elias Silver: lord of accounts in Muraness, vampire, and Kjra's current beau. After a botched kidnapping that left him mortally wounded, Kjra was brought in to help fix their mess and ended up connecting with the lordling over their shared connection to their god, Sargatanas. His open interest and attraction with her enamored her despite his noble standing and money. His brother is the High Lord of the city.

Family Ties

An only child of absent and dead parents, Kjra tends to connect more with her found family than her blood relations.

• Sjri Ingvild (deceased): Kjra's mother who died when she was around 5 years old. She was a decisive negotiator and skilled with a blade, allegedly owing to a bloodline descended from the Seven Heroes of the North. Her death was most certainly an assassination, thought the perpetrators were never held accountable.


• Asbjorn Vandil Karhu: Kjra's father and divine chieftain of the Karhu elven tribe. After his wife's death, he's fallen into despondency. Thought initially just unaware of Kjra's own survival, since discovering his daughter was still alive, he has yet to make contact with her past passing gestures of aid through intermediaries. His growing inkling that she may be significant to the tribe's lost god has grown since her hunting accident, leading him to send protection with her when she chose to leave the area.


• Br⌀d: a Northern Reaches red deerhound gifted to Kjra by her father. The runt of the litter that was meant to be abandoned to weed out the weak, he was instead left for the girl in areas she often foraged as a hunting companion. While much smaller than other deerhound, Br⌀d still has the distinctive thick red fur and keen nose of other elvish hunting dogs and was an invaluable aid in Kjra being able to feed herself. He's 12 years old now and often stays behind on any venture that promises danger.

Religious Views

Kjra is an unwitting follower and oracle of the god of war, blood, and passion, Sargatanas. While she does not know the official views of the deity, her own spiritual and moral views are:

• do not strike against someone unless they have struck you or are irrefutably going to strike you


• protect what is dear to you


• dying for what you love is the most ideal way to go


• kill only what you need; overhunting and wanton murder are never justified.

Kjra tends to treat everyone as on equal ground, particularly with the rich or noble, which can come off as disrespectful. She gets easily flustered by people she finds attractive.
