Failures & Embarrassments
"The Violetback" was a gwythaint which got his name when he decided to try for the Sobhrach family's alpacas and Imogen used her sling to splatter him with a bladder of purple paint. Alas, the paint was on a spot he could not reach to lick it off, and, as a young, yet unmated gwythaint, there was no other dragon to assist him in removing it. For this reason the paint persisted long enough that most of the Ynverness herders saw it and spread the tale throughout the town. By traveling merchant or some other means not ascertained at the time, the tale spread even farther, to a scholar in Aberymarthen with a special interest in dragons, who excitedly undertook the lengthy journey to Ynverness to see this "new species" of gwythaint only to be disappointed in the truth of the matter when he arrived.
Mental Trauma
Imogen lost her parents -- and all memory of her early life -- at the age of five, at which point she went to live with her aunt and uncle. Recently she has learned that in fact the Sobhrachs are not really her aunt and uncle, and this revelation is increasingly causing her to question everything she thought she knew, leading to a crisis in self-confidence.
Intellectual Characteristics
Imogen displays avid curiosity, especially for stories and puzzles worth investigating, but that very inquisitiveness paired with a girlish naivety is quick to land her in trouble. She is quick to commit a funny quote or a delicious story to memory.
Her mischievous sense of humor leans toward the absurd, but she also holds some absurd beliefs (especially about alpacas) rather sincerely -- and others have trouble determining when she's joking or genuinely believes the nonsense she is spouting.
In addition to her passion for stories, she is fascinated by color and enjoys experimenting with dyes whenever the local scribes, tanners, dyers, and apothecaries can indulge her. She channels her creativity by experimenting with dyes to create unique textiles.
Morality & Philosophy

Personality
Motivation
Imogen has long yearned for adventure and dreamed of discovering the world beyond the hills she knows much too well, but mostly content at home, it takes learning that the people who raised her lied about being her aunt and uncle to finally spur her to leave, seeking the truth about her parents, independence, and the adventure she's dreamed about.
She heads toward Llanhilleth -- seeking solace for her foster parents' betrayal from her cousin Niah (without realizing that Niah may have been complicit in the lie) -- but also to look out the used bookshop there in order to follow her one lead on a legendary treasure -- a book by Chrysanthos Pomorfos which she briefly encountered in Ynverness but missed out on buying.
When asked about her motivations, however, she'll more likely respond along the lines of, "Ye know how they say thars a pot-a-gold at every rainbow? Thars a story that be passed down from generation ta generation. They say on the 3rd nite of the new moon if ye climb the highest peak and look for the misty rainbow, ye will find not a pot-a-gold, but alas.... the legendary Gold Alpaca!!!!"
Quotes & Catchphrases
Imogen is always spouting facts about alpacas, but also spouting irrational beliefs about alpacas, and occasionally mixing in jokes about alpacas that she feels are "obviously jokes."
She also frequently quotes characters in her favorite books.
