Personal history
Kifel and her twin brother Zet were born and communally raised at Chakternack Bekim. They were never truly accepted, however, on account of their scales being a different color.
She spent her formative years in the warren digging tunnels, appraising minerals, and repairing equipment—normally doing twice the average workload in an attempt to be accepted. Her dream would never come true, but her diligence did attract the attention of Talis Kasterel, an emissary from the Cult of the Dragon. The cultist quickly recruited the grey kobold and brought her to [insert name of fortress], putting her to work as an assistant for her dark rituals and as a caretaker for her drakes and pseudodragon familiar, Xuzer. She worked there for a couple of years, bonding with Xuzer and even learning a bit of magic.
However, this all suddenly ended when a drunken officer who took pleasure in taunting the drakes wounded one of them one night. Kifel, in a desperate bid to stop him, snapped and gouged his left eye out. The realization of what she had done deepened her panic, and out of terror, Kifel fled the scene. However, she was stabbed in the back by the officer while climbing out a window, mortally wounding her. She nearly fell to her death, but Xuzer saved her at the last second. She passed out from blood loss as the pseudodragon dragged her to safety. Then, Xuzer searched the forest for a way to save her., eventually finding a means to do so.
After she awoke, the two limped to the nearby village of Westbridge. From then on, the two would scurry from one outskirt to the next, surviving off what morsels they could scavenge. Unfortunately, things didn't improve until the two nearly died from exposure and starvation in the alleys of Helm's Hold. There, a paladin in training discovered them, took them into her home, and fed them.
Education
In her youth, Kifel spent most of her free time teaching herself to read and write. This ability is what first caught the eye of Talis, resulting in her bringing the kobold on as an assistant. While she doesn't have an intimate understanding of magic, she received basic instruction on its properties and has incorporated it into her skill set.
Accomplishments & Achievements
As a member of the Phandaliers, Kifel has both been responsible for helping secure and develop the town of Phandalin, and in the process thwarting several evil plots to control the area. Kifel has also been a participant in multiple high profile and dangerous hunts: Ol' Chomper and Venomfang.
Kifel has defended Phandalin and Triboar from powerful raiding parties.
Mental Trauma
Being treated as a pariah by the Greenscales took its toll on the young kobold. Although she had learned to cope with her anxiety as an adult, the thought of being alone fills Kifel with dread. Not being around people she bonded with quickly unnerved her. Long periods of separation have to lead to poor eating habits, insomnia, and depression.
Morality & Philosophy
Having grown up in a society of draconian pragmatism and collectivism, Kifel has a deep-seated instinct to prioritize the group's well-being, even at her own expense. This rarely bothers her mentally. Instead, it is the strain on her body that tends to object to her selfless work ethic.
Although she holds herself to this high standard, Kifel doesn't believe that everyone should work as hard or often as her. Instead, she strives to encourage people to work in what fields they are best suited for and to contribute what they can.
This level of understanding isn't universal. Layabouts and loiterers annoy the kobold to no end, and she is known to go as far as to set traps in common gathering spots to goad them into contributing.

Personality
Likes & Dislikes
Having spent years in the underground eating whatever scraps and morsels she could get her hands on, Kifel grew tired of eating meat. She loved the foods grown of the surface, so when she fled to it, tracking down and eating every fruit and vegetable had become a bit of a pastime.
Virtues & Personality perks
Attributed mostly to her heritage, Kifel is a team player above all other things. Everything she does, whether it's scouting, accounting, or researching, is geared toward furthering the interests of whatever group she is currently aligned with. Some call it obsessive; some say it's inspiring. Either way, Kifel couldn't be happier when tirelessly working towards a common goal.
This feeds into another one of her strengths. Diligence. Kifel throughly enjoy being productive. She spends nearly all of her waking hours on all of the jobs she assigned herself. This results in ludicrously intimate knowledge of everything that she possesses, researches, and produces.
Vices & Personality flaws
Like most other kobolds, Kifel is a coward. She's risk adverse to a fault, refusing to do anything that she views as too dangerous. When forced into those situations she's liable to panic, flee, or breakdown.
She's also far too trusting, to the point of gullibility. She struggles with understanding that people with power over her would purposefully us that position to manipulate her. This sheer trust has also cause her to betray her beliefs on several occasions, for better or worse.
