Background

I grew up in Ashland, an Shilen Elven city. My parents were mages in the White Tower of Magi. There they, as all Keltori people who are gifted in magic learn the "proper" ways of magic. Once I was a young journeyman level mage. I was given to a lord. The lord allowed me to say goodbye to parents and then I was off to his side. To protect him in his adventures and assist him in his experiments. His name was lord Amarion Saeliniuth. he was a dracologist. A mage that gains a boost of magic from his dragon. The red dragon my lord had under his command was named Feyre. The dragon was both proud and intimidating. As red dragons tend to be. I served the lord Amarion Saeliniuth for years. I got used to the treatment of my people. Some Keltori who were not as gifted in magic were punished or mistreated by their elven lords and ladies. Luckily, I was gifted and my lord saw the potential in me. Gave me a room that was far better than other Keltori that had no magic.
There was a female Keltori name Briani, she was like no other female Keltori lady I have ever seen before. Her frame was muscular than many men I have seen, she had a warrior's braided tail, tied tightly back. Like a fancy braided ponytail. I saw here fight in the arena I was impressed by the way she moved on the battlefield. She cut down men twice her size. For five years I got to know her. I was secretly in love with her, but it was not allowed. Keltori men and women were matched by their lords and ladies. I kept mt feelings in.
 
Then day the sky turned red. My lord and I came back from another adventure. We had just entered the doors of his manor. When he crumbled to his knees. Screaming in pain. He is grabbing his head. Claim the noise was so loud. I could hear his dragon roaring from his cave. in the backyard grounds beyond my lord's lushes rose maze. A rush of arcane energy went through me like I was standing underneath a waterfall. Enchantments in the house were drained of all arcane and sigils of containment cracked and broke. demons and grey fae came out of the sigils. The city of Ashland was in complete chaos. The rebels must have attacked and did something to the water supply. hitting only the Shilen. the lady Elsinore was confused she could not feel the magic anymore. Like she was cut off from the source. She ran to her husband trying to help him. but my lord fell unconscious. Keltori people and beast folk were fighting the Shilen and the rebel elves must be leading the charge. The manor doors were kicked in. It was Briani, she grabbed me hard by the hand, and we ran to the kitchen where the kitchen staff were hiding and scared. for a moment it was like those bard songs. I was distracted by her holding onto my hand to remember what was going on. but one of the kitchen staff yelled out to Briani. That snapped me back into the real world. Briani told the kitchen staff that she is running to the border. That the Vostorian people will take us in. many of the kitchen staff including some of the beast-folk looked at each other in fear. But then she said. "Do you want to be under the boot of the Shilen elves or do you want a chance at freedom!" That got many of them to grab what they could and ran out with her. I told Briani that I need to grab one thing. So, I ran as fast as I ever did. I ran in my lord, I mean Lord Saeliniuth's study. As I got in, I ran straight to the main desk and grabbed how old spell book. I quickly signed the spell book to me and sealed it with my blood. which sealed it as I am its new owner. Then I caught up with Briani and the rest of manor staff that is feeing to the border.
Days of running and hiding. we joined up with other people fleeing the Tera Empire and heading towards the beast lands. Once we crossed the border I was no longer a Lord's mage. I was my own mage... What!?
