Personal history

I grew up with my twin brother Zillik in The Silvers Merchant family. The Silvers Merchant family was renowned for its selling of top notch Jewelry. Beautiful sparkling Rubies, Delicate Smooth Topaz, and other precious stones put in delicate metalwork.
Me and Zillik were known for goofy pranks, delighted smiles, and all around happy children. We were inseparable from birth, so we often got into trouble together. One time we “accidentally” lit a local noble’s head on fire. We ran from guard, laughing as we slipped past them. We got into so much trouble that day.
The day that changed everything was when our family was traveling towards the artisans of the beautiful jewelry. We saw a man, lying prone in the sand, face turned away from us. We knew the potential dangers, but we are nice people so we pulled over for him. As soon as my father jumped from the reigns of the cart, several men revealed themselves. They held crossbows, swords, and daggers. They were bandits and they left this dead body on the ground to goad travelers.
They took us and tied me and my brother together, and tied my parents together. They told us to say our goodbyes, and very tearfully our parents were taken a different way from us.
The Bandits took us towards the more magical land place. We traveled a long time, and the trip could have been worse. The bandits took care of us in a way a farmer takes care of their livestock. They had us for a month then sold us to a very hardy gentlemen. This gentlemen has us work in an iron mine.
They would whip us if we went slow, or if they felt like it. Zillik and Me stayed here for years. When we turned 20 a women came to the mine. She was dressed in a long cloak and walking with the gentlemen who bought us years ago. This women walked to us and spoke in a language I didn't understand. The next thing I knew, we were shipped with this women to some ruin. There this women had us tied to different stone tables. After about 20 minutes, more people entered the room. They took time to prepare us with symbols drawn on us. They took time to prepare an alter with different materials. Then the chanting came, they chanted and the symbols on our bodies started to burn. Zillik yelled in pain, and so did I. The ritual seemed to take agonizing hours, and when the chanting rose to a peak the world went dark. I woke in a cell, with nothing but a firm bed. I looked around for my brother, but no one else was here with me. I took stock of what was around me, and thats when I felt it. Black Scales were on my arms. They shone like they were nearly grown. I panicked, tried to scratch and tug them off. I quickly realized that the scales were apart of me now. I could feel when I touched or scratched them. I bled when I pulled one off. All together it was a strange circumstance.
The women ended up coming by my cell later that day. She seemed excited for me to be alive, and she thoroughly inspected my scales. She told me her name is Elrig, and she was going to teach me how to use magic.
I asked about my brother, and where he was. She informed me that he was too weak to survive the ritual. after that she said I started tomorrow and left. I grieved heavily for my brother, but I was a survivor. I promised then that I would kill Elrig, when the time was right.
The next day came and I started to learn magic. Elrig told me to not tell anyone of where my powers came from. I was told that I was a sorcerer of sorts. I trained with other mages. One of which was a silver haired girl named Cirsina. She was also a sorcerer, even though she had come by her powers more naturally. She was talented, strong willed, and more than anything she was beautiful. We trained for a couple of years and me and Circina got closer. Once i told her that her name meant hawk in elvish. She thought I meant it as an insult, but I told her that it meant she was destined for the clouds. Soon I finally felt powerful enough to try to leave. A couple of days before I planned to leave I talked to Hawks. I told her of everything and how I planned to leave. She told me that she was also willing to leave too. The next couple of days were full of planning. Hawks got me an earring of a Hawk, and she wore a simple silver band around her finger.
The day came for us to leave, everything seemed to go wrong. We rushed from the ruins, but before we got far Elrig showed up. She tried to use her power to stop us, and we used our power to fight her. A huge explosion ended up going off and I was flung far from the ruins in a river. I woke up later washed up on a shore somewhere. I found shelter nearby, and then went about my life. I was a survivor, but I will always have Hawks on my mind, and the promise to kill Elrig.
