Kaalira’s Burden

Kaalira was only a fledgling during the Shattering, hidden away by her mother—the Plume-Mother of her clan—who was last seen fighting a Star Reavers assault squad with her wings burning from plasma fire.

Raised by loyal survivors and guided by the Wind Below, Kaalira has since grown into a fierce warrior. Her raptors were the last gifts of an elder before he died defending a cavern from Star Reaver scavengers.

Now, her driving goals are:

• Free her captured kin scattered across Raider citadels.


• Reclaim a shard of the Hollow Crown—a symbol of legitimacy.


• Unite the broken clans under a new banner.


• And perhaps, in time, soar in open sky, with her people behind her once more.

Munch & Crunch

Velociraptor Companions of Kaalira of the Hollow Crown

• Munch is the smaller of the two—quicker, twitchier, and always chewing something she shouldn’t be. She’s curious, almost chatty, and the first to leap onto a table or someone’s lap like an oversized, murderous cat.


• Crunch is bulkier and quieter, often looming in the background until things get violent. He’s fiercely protective of Kaalira and tends to snort disdainfully at strangers. He bites first and asks questions never.
