Personal history

Despite being over a hundred years old and an extremely powerful magician, Ulric has mostly moved behind the scenes during his long and bloody career.
 
His early life was totally uneventful. Shadow Force Operatives have been scouring Eranheinan records for info on his past.
 
He started out as an adventurer; records indicate a fairly long and successful, but otherwise not particularly noteworthy run that mostly involved dungeon crawls and vault raids.
 
Records consistently describe him as a magician, indicating he had entered into his pact over a century ago.
 
By the year 1673, he had retired from active adventuring and became engaged in various enterprises using the funds he had amassed from his adventuring days. Eventually, he had garnered enough wealth and status to literally buy himself into the nobility of Eranhein. He further solidified this in 1693 when he married Mara Von Richter.
 
In 1695 his first child, Mira Von Decimo, was born. She was followed by Rhazien in 1703 and Elzbeth in 1710.
 
During this time, Ulric played the part of a legitimate courtier who also operated a magicant shipping company. In reality, he had created an illegal network that traded forbidden artifacts (most of them with ties to the Abyss) and slaves. His dealings often involved ruby drae and other creatures of the Underlands. It is likely that around this time he also first having contact with The Black Sun network.
 
In 1719, Ulric's middle child, Rhazien, went insane and killed his older sister, Mira, as well as his mother. He escaped the authorities. In reality, Ulric sacrificed his wife and killed Mira to make her become a vampire. Rhazien, in fact, tried to stop him but failed. Ulric pinned the crime on his son.
 
However, in 1728 the authorities caught up with Ulric's criminal activities and attempted to arrest him. Ulric unleashed the full power of his magical abilities and destroyed those who tried to apprehend him. He escaped, but his cover was blown and a lot of his monetary assets were confiscated.
 
Ulric resurfaced in 1732 collaborating with the Black Sun.
