First Impressions

It's a beautiful thing, seein all these people coming together at the height of the season. She woulda’ loved this. This is the kind of place she might’ve wandered off to if given the chance. The Stories people share are so lively, though I have a difficult time understanding em all, truth be told. Amazin how people use em, to pass down themselves even when they’re long gone.
 
I met a young’n named Gill who was huddled up havin some sort of nightmare or somethin, he perked right up after a little while though. “He’s just there to get attention.” I’ve seen kids who fill up every room they’ve been in, trying just to let their light be seen. There’s desperation in it. A longin just to be whole. Never known a kid who needs all that to seclude themselves away from the crowd, to hide their cryin. A Shameful thing to do, to see a child so alone and to let em be without a comfortin heart.
I’m glad I was able to help in my own little way.
 
South Crossing has got a Red Warden, or Deputy, or Guard or somethin. He’s a little odd. Normally, I say the stranger the better, but I feel unsure about those reddies. I know all too well that sometimes stories don’t align with the truth. I wonder how he’d treat me outside of all this… I saw him grippin his spear a little tighter as Brutus was walkin by…
 
So many kind faces, Elder Stape, Cherry, Davrim… Davrim seems a little different than last night. I think he oughta loosen up a bit. He was a riot with a few beers in em! Haha. Just means he needs a breath, I think. Stape was nice enough to pay for my room. People respect him here, yet I sense he’s not gettin what he needs out here. Like he’s missin somethin important, I dunno.
Charity- I mean Cherry is an easy one to talk to. I’m glad she took to the name I gave her the first we met. Looks like others like it too. Haha! Lovely!
 
I feel strongly, This is where I’m supposed to be. Not sure why, I just… I have a little inkling. Been Donkeys Years since I’ve felt it so strong. Can’t wait to see what it all means.
