Being forced to commit heinous crimes and being starved, he has grown a hatred for religious people as well as all strangers.
After growing up and leaving the orphanage Theodore dressed himself as the priest who had wronged him to try to ruin their otherwise good reputation.
 
His new found group has helped him slowly overcome this hatred and desire for revenge and as such he has slowly discarded the act of being a priest.
