Personal history

It was you and your dad for as long as you could remember. He was the protector of the woods you grew up in. Taught you about the world. He said his job and your job were to protect the woods and to not let the people of Semoor come to cut the woods down, and to protect the temple. You never went into the temple personally.
There was no special name for your magic. As druids do not keep any written documentation of their lineage, your father would have talked to you like a philosopher. He'd have shared literally everything he knew about the world by word of mouth.
About five years ago, he left abruptly. He said that he needed to make sure of some things, to stay there and guard the temple, to not let any from Semoor there. He disappears without another word, you're waiting there for five years until a deadly, indescribable mist attacks the local goblins inhabiting the woods around the old temple site. Venturing inside after meeting a survivor of the sudden attack, Branch Speaksoft, you and your new goblin acquaintance discover the dusty remains of an old smuggler's den. Inside, you find a note bearing your father's name, suggesting he once had a hand in whatever nefarious activities took place there.
Deep inside the temple, you and Branch come across the site of a ritual being performed by a mysterious practitioner of dark magicks. He was chanting some unknown incantation that screamed malice. Using your advantage of surprise, you stop the ritualist before he can finish his chants, but the mist from the forest fills the room and then possesses the harbinger's corpse. You and Branch fight to dispel the creature from the body and cleanse the temple of the mist, but once outside, you see it making its way toward Semoor, soaring through the sky as a lone cloud.
