He's a genuinely nice guy. A good-hearted and generous soul. Unfortunately, killing monsters is kind of his calling.
It started all the way back when he protected his village.
He's a normal, fun-loving, ale-drinking guy who just happens to go into super-scary places sometimes in order to make sure the ordinary folks that live nearby are okay. Afterwards, he usually goes to a nearby tavern and polish off a turkey leg, ham hock, or some other less common meat hunk. Usually accompanied by roasted root vegetables or a veggie broth, bread and gravy. Lots of gravy. Always with a pitcher of ale and goofy smile while he chomps away.
