Syndic
Syndics are low-ranking functionaries. At this level of the hierarchy, you can expect deference from borrowers, who will perform small favors that require no significant risk, effort, or cost. The bulk of your work for the guild, in turn, involves doing favors for those above you.
As a priest of this rank, you can perform minor tasks in an Orzhov church: collecting tithes at the door, scheduling appointments for the senior priests, keeping ledgers, and the like.
As an advokist, you copy documents, research legal precedent, depose witnesses, and otherwise assist more senior guild members. As an enforcer, you flex your muscle to collect minor debts that are of little importance to the guild as a whole.

Active Character Arcs
LEARN
You want to learn something. This isn’t the same as the Uncover a Secret arc, in which you’re looking for a bit of information. This is a skill or whole area of knowledge you want to gain proficiency with. This is learning a new language, how to play an instrument, or how to be a good cook. Thus, it’s not about gaining a level or rank in climbing, but learning to be an experienced mountaineer.
Opening
Focusing on the Problem. Learning the INVESTIGATION skill.
Steps
Each step requires 25 GP and a week's worth of time.

Step 2: Learn. Depending on what you’re learning, this could involve one step or quite a few.

AID A FRIEND
Someone needs your help. When a PC friend takes a character arc, you can select this arc to help them with whatever their arc is (if appropriate). The steps and climax depend entirely on their chosen arc. If the friend is an NPC, the steps and climax are lifted from another arc appropriate to whatever they seek to do. It’s difficult, but possible, to aid a friend with an arc even if that friend is unwilling to accept (or is ignorant of) your help. The cost and rewards for a character with this arc are the same as those described in the original character arc.

Answering the Call. Offered to help Makoto figure out the mystery of his parents.
Steps
Depends on the friend’s arc. Rewards are the same for you as for the friend.
Climax
Depends on the friend’s arc. Rewards are the same for you as for the friend.
Resolution
You speak with your friend and learn if they are satisfied. Together, you share what you’ve learned (if anything) and where you will go from here.
