Araya is the daughter of Las'veila Vassar, a sun elf ambassador and Val'nadria Balquoran, the reigning drow monarch, making her royalty on her drow side. She also has teifling heritage, stemming from an unknown infernal source. Araya is a disciple of Kjord, the Stormlord, who she shares a burning hatred for Lolth, the Spider Queen. Araya ran away from her mother because of the years of neglect and abuse she suffered, escaping to the underdark and emerging many years later in a kobold den. The kobolds brought Araya to Valeen the Worldtreader, who adopted her. She found Lunaessa Evensong as a child in the woods surrounding Vals house.
