Once a brilliant young musician, her life was turned upside down by a paranormal mutation, transforming her into a living battery for sonic energy. Abandoned by those closest to her, her sole hope now lies in Prescott Industries' experimental research.

Personal history
Raised in a low-income, largely anti-paranormal neighborhood of northeastern London, the only child of Isabelle (neé Ducharme) and Jonathan Scott.
Gained the love of her distant, blue-collar father by displaying an exceptional musical talent at an early age; first with the piano, before later specializing in violin. However, Jonathan's "love" came with a borderline obsession: Using his daughter's talents to climb the socio-economic ladder.
With most days spent studying, practicing, or competing, she completed her secondary education with highest honors, and was accepted to Arcadia University (AU) on a full-pay music scholarship. While attending AU, she majored in Music with a double concentration in Musical Performance and Music & Sound Theory.
In her final year of university, during her senior thesis recital, her performance was interrupted by the sudden emergence of her paranormal powers. The incident resulted in damage to one of the school's auditoriums, and left several audience members hospitalized.
Spent the next two years confined to the acute observation ward of Bishopsgate Asylum for the Afflicted. During this time, she was visited only once, by her mother. Even then, the family's anti-paranormal bigotry meant Isabelle kept her daughter at arm's length. Her father disowned her in every meaningful way, not just for having become a "mutant," but also for ruining his dream of a better life for himself and his family.
Four years ago, she was recruited by Prescott Industries to assist with their creation of a cure for the paranormal condition. Unfortunately, she is treated as little more than a lab rat; her collaboration with Dr. Prescott ultimately amounts to an exploration of, and experimentation with, her newfound abilities. Unbeknownst to Charlotte, Prescott's interest in her centers around her ability to disrupt and negate sonic energy. It is his belief that her powers contain a useful insight into his own research on aetheric nullification.

While her mother remains merely distant, only visiting her daughter once after "the incident," her father has disowned in every meaningful way.
Speech
Due to the nature of her paranormal mutation, Charlotte can no longer hear or speak normally.
By manipulating the frequency of her Silence Aura, she can intuit vibratory waves via contact with her skin; she has also learned to read lips at an expert level.
During her time at Prescott Industries, she has become a fluent user of British Sign Language and, with the use of stored sonic energy, she is able to mimic human speech to a degree.
