Northeners are Dicks

I am normally a people person, really. Contrary to my brother I actually enjoy what people have to say and take quite a bit of enjoyment from sharing drink and good conversation. Kind of funny he came along really, I was more than happy to make my own path and he chose to come as well. Claims I would get myself killed, but I think deep down he cares...in his own way.
 
But these dwarves....I can see why so many of my kin aren't fond of them. I'm unsure if their grim humor at the expense of others is a form of hazing, or whether its a way to test strangers, but it grows tiresome quite quickly when spirits should be kept high.
 
The lack of sunlight and extreme cold make me miss a warm bed and good companionship dearly. I am certainly not bedding anyone in this lot, I for one am unwilling and them.... not particularly suitable for my tastes.
 
On a subject outside of bedding strangers, there was the strangest occurrence of a tree-like monstrosity following us....after some much due terror and doubt though we learned he was actually quite harmless. His name is Maple. I think?
 
We are hoping to camp soon, before it's dark. Not that it isn't dark already but apparently this storm will only get worse. We have quite the lot of companions and maybe I can help raise spirits by cracking some jokes and getting them to share a bit about themselves. If we don't all freeze to death that is.
