I finally was able to do my job again today. The group that I've been traveling with came across a battlefield, which was littered with about 30 or so poor souls. These ones were not like the typical souls that I'd gather; which as you know are usually brave, yet frightened young men. No, these souls were gentle creatures, ones who were not used to conflict. These souls were terrified at their moment of death, and died in a horrific fashion. I wonder what their fear was regarding, I haven't felt something this potent before.
 
I grow weary of this land. I continue to wonder why she sent me here, there are so many others that could have taken my place...
 
At night I almost died, again. Don't worry, I'm ok. This time it came by way of a massive snake creature, about 15 feet in length (I've no doubt that you could have soothed the beast with your skills). It struck while the others were sleeping. I was out on watch when I first noticed the water near camp began to ripple. I threw out a beacon of fire in the direction that the ripple came from, and before I knew it, the snake had me within it's grasp. It dragged me to the water, and I attempted to use my Lightning Breath to break free. But as you know, the past continues to haunt me, and I wasn't able to do so. I wish that I could do so just as easily as you...
 
The little one eventually killed the snake with her magics, such power within such a little body. Once it was dead, I managed to break free and swim to the surface.
