Personal history
Virkas Naegolor was born in the town of Tarrin and had a rough childhood.
His parents, Colat & Felylme were poor and struggling to make ends meet. On their way into town one day, they were ambushed by a roving band of Goblins and killed.
Virkas was sent to live with his grandparents at the young age of 23.
Virkas was known to get into trouble as he didn't have a solid role model to guide him. He quickly fell into a life of theft and deceit.
Upon meeting a fellow thief named Zidac, he was convinced to steal a valuable gold trinket of an eagle with jade eyes. What he didn't know is that this gold trinket belonged to the leader of the gang, the Black Cloaks.
Virkas fled town and was a lone wanderer. He was able to make ends meet by stealing and taking up side jobs. His thievery eventually leads to his arrest where he was sent to work in a labor camp.
In the labor camp, he was beaten and tortured daily by his orc masters. The hatred for these foul beasts grew in the pit of his stomach. His only solace was another wood elf named Liara.
Liara was wrongfully accused of stealing and was sent off to work in the labor camp. Virkas swore to get her out of the camp and to safety
Using the skills he learned as a thief, he made a daring escape.
Virkas and Liara stole keys to undo their shackles and timed the escape with the change of the guards. During the escape, they were navigating a maze of hallways to lead to the main door. Within sight of the door, two guards rushed in front of them, one firing an arrow that fatally struck Liara in the heart.
Virkas, in a rage, rushed and beat the two guards to death before fleeing. To this day, he blames himself for not taking the arrow. He constantly mourns his lost friend.
Virkas spent the next portion of his life living off the land. He became quite the bowmaster, which made him a proficient hunter.
In his seclusion, he has had time to dwell on his past and forge a new life for himself. Throughout all the years as a criminal, a common thief, and a degenerate, he realized he still had a moral code to live by:
"Do what is necessary to survive. Do not murder. Take only from those who have plenty. Trust no one."
The last code was the one eating at him. Living alone for so long, he yearns for companionship. Someone to trust, someone to talk to.
Virkas decides that he wants to re-integrate himself back into society, and will do so by using his skills for good. He will help people in need and try to forge new bonds and relationships.
While he has decided to turn a new leaf, the past still haunts him. His hatred from or Orcs and Goblins still burns inside him with the intensity of 10,000 suns.
He may not be able to get rid of his dark past so easily
