Physical quirks

Her mask gives her the illusion of having wide, blank eyes. This is no different from beneath her mask, as her white eyes are just as blank and unnerving.

Wears a plague doctor mask and cloak, underneath which she has straps and belts containing jars and vials for storing strange substances.

Mentality

Personal history

Maladie was abandoned as a baby in a swamp. Because of poor nurturing, her wings were underdeveloped and crumpled, so she laid on her back next to a spider's nest, staring curiously up at the murky light shining through the leaves of the trees. Every day the spiders fed her insects until she could fend for herself. Unbothered by her lack of companions, the baby chick hopped around the swamp, delighting in the bizarre aspects of nature and finding a special affinity towards mushrooms.
Maladie is slowly dying of some unknown, chronic illness. She isn't entirely bothered by this, viewing it as a sort of challenge and regarding her pursuit towards living as a game that she plays with life and death. She seeks to find a cure by whatever means necessary, delightedly determined to thwart death.
She failed her exams for her first year due to being wrapped up in her experiments, and forgetting to actually show up.
