Personal history
Niamh was born to human parents in a mostly human village, with few nonhumans pacing through. It was a great shock to the village to find out that she was a Sylph, especially since her twin sister, Aimee, was human. at least beside her abnormal blue hair. Aimee and Niamh grew very close over their shared magical potential, despite being treated very differently by the villagers. Being one of the only two nonhumans in her all human village was a hard experience because many villagers didn't understand her presence and by default were afraid of her. The other nonhuman was her a cousin, a Half-Elf named Lucien. They bonded over being considered outcasts by their village.
When she was young her village was raided by a large group of goblins. The goblins killed everyone and burned the village to the ground. The only surviving members were Niamh, Aimee, Lucien, and Rhys, another one of Niamh's cousins. They fled to a nearby city, where they were able to recover from their injuries and start to rebuild their lives. Though, Aimee's lungs were permanently damaged. This inspired Niamh to become a Cleric, so she could prevent her sister's injuries. So while Niamh trained to be a Cleric, her sister trained to become a Druid. Her sister's desire to be Druid inspired Niamh's love for Dragons and many aspects of the wild.
While Niamh was training to be a Cleric many of her comrades were slaughtered by a group of Orcs. This action leads Niamh to dedicate herself to the deity Nise and joining her militaristic church. Despite her sister's disapproval of the violence, Niamh committed herself solely to Nise, Niamh quickly rose in the ranks, becoming a Mistress of Battle. She battled and served for many years. Over the years she lost many sisters and friends.
She remained as a Mistress of Battle for many years, until she was caught in a horrific fire in battle. She was grievously injured both physically and mentally, and while the physical wounds were healed, the mental wounds could not be healed and she developed a small fear of fire; though, it does not bother her much. She also lost her close friend Essa a fellow Sylph Cleric in the fire. Essa had been the only other Sylph that Niamh had met, and they had become close friends. The death of Essa had been the main reason she took a step back from being such an active Mistress of Battle. She had realized that constant battle was not for her any longer.
Niamh required a break from battle, and she boarded a pirate ship. As she traveled she decided that the life of a pirate was for her. For a short time, she had neglected her duties to Nise. She was frustrated and upset that Essa had died. She was unsure of how to deal with and she didn't understand how Nise could let one of her followers die, especially since she saved Niamh. Though, as time went on she returned to Nise and began to practice actively again.
She spent several years on the sea, developing a fast love for the sea and open-air, and eventually, she gained her ship and became the Captain of that ship. She named her ship Acasta. By becoming a Captain and gaining a ship for Nise and her clergy, despite it being piratical, she earned the honorific Shipsister, making her formal title Shipsister, Mistress of Battle Niamh. To show that she was fully dedicated her ship to Nise, and she was dedicated to Nise again, she had Nise's name painted on the ship above the ship’s name, Acasta. Once this was done a Seahawk, Nise’s chosen animal settled on her ship, making the ship it’s home.
As a pirate Niamh met many people. When she got her ship she selected her crew, which all happened to members of Nise’s clergy. She selected her first mate, Imny who is a female Undine Bard, and her second mate, Omnin who is a female Aasimar Inquisitor. She had met Imny when she first decided to be a pirate. They traveled together for a long time, and when Niamh decided to purchase her ship she offered Imny the position as her first mate. She met Omnin while she was traveling the seas, right after she had purchased her ship. She was being attacked by a group of Orcs. Niamh helped her, and she offered her a place on her ship. They quickly became good friends and Omnin quickly climbed the ranks and she earned the position second mate.
Niamh, Imny, and Omnin sailed for many years together, battling other pirates, traveling the seas, and trading and transporting goods. She visited many lands and learned of many people. While she traveled she gained the craft of mechanics, which helped maintain her ship.
When Niamh was forty she had docked her ship. She and her crew were taking a short break from sea to celebrate a recent victory over the Pirate known as Seton Kelsey. They now had control over a new area of trade. The main reason Niamh chose to battle Seton was he transporting and selling slaves and had attempted to force Niamh and her crew to help him. After two years in fighting with Seton, Niamh and her crew finally beat him when Niamh murdered him.
While Niamh was on celebrating she heard the faint cries of a baby. She followed the cries into a small alley. There she discovered a small baby Sylph, wrapped tightly in a blue blanket. She picked up him. She spent the next two weeks searching for the baby’s parents. She eventually found the parents, only to learn that they had abandoned him because of his Sylvan race. Since the parents decided not to claim the child she took him with her. Niamh, Imny, and Omnin decided to name the child Isel.
Isel grew up on the sea with Niamh and her crew. Everyone assisted in raising him; though, he called Niamh his mother. He learned the life of a pirate and the many aspects of life at sea. At a very early age, he started to express Oracle powers. When Isel was older she gave him the option to go live with Aimee, so that he could see what regular life was like. He spent two months with Aimee before returning. He claimed that he like the sea too much. As he aged his Oracle powers became stronger. He is currently twenty.
As Niamh grew older she became more concerned about her sister and cousin, Aimee and Rhys, who’s human ancestry mean their lifespan is much shorter. Niamh eventually decides to make her way back to her home. She docks her ship and leaves it in the trusted hands of Imny and Omnin. She asked Isel if wanted to visit, but he claimed that she needed to do this one on her own.
Once she finally reaches her home city, she is greeted by her family. Rhys and Aimee were aged, looking as if they could be her grandparents. It pained her that her twin sister and cousin had grown so old. Lucien looked the same, despite being older than all of them. Niamh can’t help but be grateful that Lucien, Imny, and Omnin have longer lifespans, and that she won’t outlive her son.
Niamh spends a year with her family before the call to return to the sea gets the best of her. She says good-bye to her family and starts her journey back to where she docked her ship. Imny and Omnin said they would return to the dock now and then to pick her up.
As she starts to make her way back to her ship, she ran into a group of adventurers known as the Wanderers. She joined them and traveled all over with them. One night she went to sleep with the Wanderers and woke up with an entirely different group of adventurers.

Her life in the city was a unique experience and one that she loved. Though for a while it was hard for her, Aimee, Lucien, and Rhys to survive since they were just children. It was hard for them to make money to purchase food. As Niamh grew older she found an escape through religion and magic. This lead to her wanting to become a Cleric. While she was training to be Cleric, a group of Orcs attacked her and her fellow trainees. The death of her peers sent Niamh into a rage. At the time she was looking for a diety to dedicated herself to, and because of this tragedy, she selected Nise.
While Niamh was serving Nise in her clergy as a Mistress of Battle she lost many sisters in battle. No loss was as great as her fellow Mistress in Battle Essa. They were both Sylph Clerics and they had become very close. Essa died in the same fire that grievously injured Niamh. Niamh fell into a depression and she took a step back from her position. While Niamh was a pirate she overcame that depression by meeting many new friends and eventually gaining her crew of the same faith. Of course, as a pirate, she lost people in her crew, and people she made friends with as she traveled.
Niamh has issues with people for many reasons. Due to her being a Sylph and having blue skin and tattoos many tend to judge her rather quickly.
