Personal history

Myrwan Infelix, more commonly known as Sanctus, was raised by the incapable hand of the eccentric and morally ambiguous tabaxi, Gate of Ivory, also known as Ivon. Ivon found Sanctus as a child, wandering on the outskirts of Kassai with no memory, and taught him the magic arts on the road while doing work for the Xiloscientists. Sanctus never truly knew the nature of his work while traveling with Ivon, but as he grew, the sinister undertones of Ivon's teachings became more apparent. Ivon taught him three golden rules: be smart, never get involved, and never form personal relationships.
 
While traveling with a caravan one night, Sanctus overheard his mentor selling him for a few hundred pieces of gold. With the help of a friend he made in the caravan, Sanctus escaped his captor's clutches. A final fight with Ivon left Sanctus wounded and Ivon blinded, and Sanctus stole certain treasures from his mentor before running.
 
While on the run, Sanctus encountered the creature he unaffectionately named Hamburglar, or Hammy. Believing Hammy to be a familiar he had summoned, the creature stuck around as the only friend Sanctus would make for several years.

Education

Sanctus received no formal education. He learned on the road from his mentor, Ivon, and from reading books.

Employment

Sanctus previously worked under Ivon, who travelled and either assisted or hindered other people in the name of the Xiloscientists. Much of Sanctus' energy was put into, either unwittingly for knowingly, helping their efforts.
 
Sanctus is currently an adventurer for Mel.

Sanctus' strongest moment in his life thus far is his final battle with his former mentor, Ivon.

Failures & Embarrassments

As someone who hardly forms attachments, the attachments he does form are fragile. He will do anything to keep them and this often puts him in difficult situations. Sanctus also has a heart for animals, and can be irrational in favor of saving them.

Mental Trauma

While traveling with in a caravan, Sanctus was sold to other caravan members for only a few hundred gold by his mentor. Sanctus escaped their clutches and, in the heat of the fight, blinded his mentor and burned his arm.

Intellectual Characteristics

Sanctus' abilities as a wizard are limited in their destructive power, so he honed the art of divination, with some emphasis on necromancy for its healing potential. Being rather physically incapable, his cunning and intelligence are his greatest weapons.

Under Ivon's instruction, Sanctus committed acts he is not proud of. He aims to right those wrongs by being a better person and reversing some of his mentor's destruction, but his difficulty forming connections and chaotic tendencies often hinder this goal.

Stiff and curious, Sanctus tends to stay close enough to others to spy, but far enough away to remain unnoticed. With those he is familiar with, he is still awkward, but has a dry humor few people seem to get.
