Torbrand was born in a small humble village at the foot of "THE" mountain. Torbrand's father was on the village council and specifically he was responsible for the villages commerce. It is though the duties of his father that a deep friendship with a member of the nearby hold of Mythrill Dwarves was created. The Village would trade most of its excess produce with the Dwarves.
One night an Orc raiding party fell upon the village and slaughtered the halflings but not before young Torbrands mother was able to hide him.
It was some time before the Dwarves of THE mountain came to check on the Halfling village and found Torbrand and took him back to raise him in the hold.
