Was born to their tribe in Hydropho. One day while exploring they came across a teleportation circle in testing. She got curious and checked it out, ended up being teleported to Lavkaza and couldn't get back. Was taken in by a strict magical family who had them focus on magic rather then any sort of self expression or exploration. As a triton this conflicted with their desire to be fluid in their identity. Depression time exists. Then a being was brought to family to study. It spoke to Rivera in their mind, telling them it could help them express themselves if they let it free. They did so, the creature binding with their body. Learned that creature part of a larger collective, doesn't wanna go back because it wants to be its own being now. Creature directed Rivera to Ultimanic since that is where they'll best be able to learn to be themselves.
