Jillidan was born in the Shadar-kai City of Song, situated at the throat of a great worm called the Leviathan who slumbers deep in the Shadowfell of Mim's Cradle. He is the eldest of two children left by the late Archon Urtimon Dinhervlin following a great tragedy that shook the very cornerstones of his house.
 
One among the four major Shadar-kai houses in the City of Song, house Dinhervlin devoted its assets to exploring the vast astral space between the planets (planes) and studying the alien beings that slumbered within.
