A Soviet Sniper with amazing fighting skills. Hot headed and prone to violence. Will stab without warning.
Sasha Federov was born on October 2nd, 1918 in Moscow, son of revolutionary leader Ivan Federov. His young life was one of general well being, with his family belonging to the highest echelons of the Soviet aristocracy. However shortly after Bolshevik victory in the Russian civil war, Sasha's mother passed away, and he was soon to be raised by a mess of maids and and others while his father was out on military duty. From his earliest memories Sasha only saw his father sparsely and it was often for less than a week at a time. He often saw Ivan's work associates though, especially one G.K. Zhukov, a young regimental commander. Throughout his childhood Sasha would meet dozens of Soviet officers and politicians.
By 1936 Sasha was planning on entering the Moscow Technical Institute to learn of industrial manufacturing to become an administrator, but event had forced his hand. Stalin's purges had started, and Ivan was on the list. In August 1937 With the help of Zhukov and others Sasha was given a false set of papers and sent into the Red Army, a body so large it was thought no one would be able to find him there. He would put on a patriotic face as he took courses at the Moscow Military School of Infantry Training, but at night would worry endlessly about his father, the only family Sasha ever knew, and would curse Stalin for tearing them apart. Without raising suspicion Sasha graduated as Lt. Sasha Goborov in early June 1938.
Immediately he was sent to the 52nd Rifle Division, where he was put in charge of a reconnaissance platoon in the 112th Regiment. Things were quiet as Sasha kept things in order until 1939, when the Nazis had invaded Poland. Sasha led his platoon 'completely competently, but devoid of combat in the sector' according to reports. Soon after Poland the 52nd was transferred to Murmansk in preparation for war with Finland. He finally saw combat in Finland, dueling several times with a sniper known only to the Russians as 'White Death'.
It is at this point where Sasha took an affinity to one of his subordinates. Tanya Nikovika from Minsk, Beylorussia was in Sasha's recon platoon when stationed to Murmansk. The two would become friendly, and watch each others backs on recon patrols, eventually the relationship turned romantic. With several honorous citations at the end of the Winter War Sasha was promoted to Senior Lieutenant, and transferred from his recon platoon to 2nd in command of a normal infantry company, he ensured that Tanya was transferred with him.
However the NKVD, unbeknownst to anyone, had been looking for Sasha with some success. They had discovered Sasha in June 1940, and were preparing to make an arrest. Sasha's comrades in the regiment had tipped him off however, and in the night he vanished without a trace. Eventually hopping a freighter from Estonia he landed in the United Kingdom, and was assigned to a clandestine group fighting against the nazis.
