Fought in the gladiator battles and have earned my freedom. My teacher, Dralk Gish, taught me about religion.
I, Nortul Gron, l was just a humble orc. I lived peacefully with my strong tribe in our settlement Tor’kren. I was just old enough to hold my Father's farming tools. One day as I was helping my father tend to the crops. My father heard a scream come from the village and decided to go check on the noise.
I was nervous but kept a calm mind, knowing my father was a strong man. I started to notice a flickering of light within the village. Soon I realized the light was growing and screams started to come together in a panic. It was on fire and finally realized that my village was under attack.
I rushed to help with what little gardening tools I had. I noticed upon arrival that there were bandits causing havoc. I noticed each were branded with their group's sigil. I saw that I needed to act fast. I started swiping at the first guy I saw and one of them knocked me out, as I was falling unconscious I noticed my tribe was falling back from the bandits forces. I was captured and taken away.
I woke up at night to the sound of a campsite. I soon realized that I was still captured by the same bandits. Being bonded I saw a plan of escape, so I wiggled out of my terribly tied bonds and noticed that I just needed to make it to the exit. The bandits notice my escape, and they laugh in amusement. I got quickly surrounded by them and one bandit that had a scar on his face says "there's no luck for you boy you're going to get sold for the fights". In a panic I knocked one of them out and made a dash to the exit but to no avail I got grappled and knocked unconscious.
Later I wake to the bright day and the bustling noise of fighting and wounded men. I soon get thrown into gladiator fights and learn quickly that if I want to earn my freedom I'll have to be strong willed and cunning. In between fights I get to know the other fighters. One orc teaches me about divinity, the man believes Artelesia. He shows me his silver necklace with the symbol of Artelesia. Through companionship in battle, the teacher grows fond of him. He mentions his name is Dralk Gish tells me about the temple of Artelesia and to get there if I ever live through the imprisonment of this place.
Years go by having been taught by survival skills and religion by Dralk. I became well trained. Over the time spent there I collected pieces of armor with small amounts of gold through earnings. One eventful day in the fights the overseer of the fights, Dralmic Zilgoth, noticed how strong of a bond we shared. He didn't like the advantage of dominance Dralk and I shared. He wanted us gone either with our freedom or in a casket. So he gave us our final battle with just Dralk and I to fight three times what we would normally fight against.
Having no choice we got sent in with the little we had. We fought well and valiantly, but sadly towards the last few enemies Dralk was struck down, slaying him with no remorse. I was in a furious rage finishing off the last of the foes. I quickly went to aid Dralk to see if there was anything I could do to save him with a fleet of hope. With his last few breaths he told me "I'm proud of you and how far You've come. Take this and live with freedom." He hands me his Artelesia necklace. I was saddened by the loss but knew that I must press forward.
I noticed that Dralmic was pleased by the fight. The crowds were booming with the victory. I soon after got freed of my imprisonment, hoping I would never have to see such a place again. I find the temple of Artelesia broken by the loss of my tribe and my mentor. I strengthened my faith and was granted a sword and shield. Fueled by discipline and pain I move to Orkagafr in search to find my people, while also taking jobs to earn coin.
I strive for justice and freedom for companions and family. One day I hope to rejoin my tribe and more importantly my parents. Through my days in Orkagafr I heard about the funeral of Guteyas Sanlel who I remember Dralk telling me about him, how good a friend they were to each other. I had to go to the funeral to pay Dralk’s respects since he wouldn't be able to make it. I head on my journey to Oxendour.
