Darius was a curious and thoughtful man. He was born to Evelyn and Harold Shay in the town of Hudson's Crossing. He grew up tinkering in his parent's shop, Shay's Collection of Useful Things, where his brother Jamie and sister Cassandra still work. He attended Stonebrook University and worked as an archeologist after school. Later, he joined a group of adventures and began to unravel a series of deadly mysteries. After returning from discovering a long-sealed tomb of an ancient king, he lost his life during a demonic attack in the town of Ruby Tooth. He was killed by a member of the Temple of Whispers, known to Rex as Sam. His father, sister, and brother still live in Hudson's Crossing.
