Silver-scale kobold with a strong sense of justice. Dead-speaker with some ability to manipulate energy and time. Maybe on a quest, but who isn't?
Raised with a silver spoon, Mirzhin's future as shaman and leader of Maplecliff was self-evident....until a discussion with her draconic ancestor Vrozhinpairmenth went sideways and she skipped 10 years of time. Staying was too painful; now she journeys from town to town, trying to stamp out evil wherever she can.

Personal history
Her childhood was a fairly charmed existence in the kobold village of Maplecliff. The village used to be under the protection of a silver dragon, Vrozhinpairmenth. The now-dead ancestor is still revered to this day by the village.
Mirzhin was a daughter of a high-ranked family with an intuition for magic and ability to commune with the spirits of the dead. She was taught by her village's shaman how to appease spirits when they cause trouble and how to bargain with them for small favors of information or other aid. As an honored dead-speaker and one of the apprentice shamans, she was quite a catch in her youth and had two rivals vying for her hand. The first was a clever young whitescale trap-maker, Azrnak. The other was a bad boy blackscale hunter, Kirrok. She enjoyed the attention and refrained from committing to either of them.
One rite of passage along the journey of being a shaman was an overnight stay in the cave containing the bones of the honored silver dragon ancestor. She entered in her 13th year, as an adult, expecting to spend one night and, with luck, to talk with an honored ancestor. Much to her initial pleasure, she was honored with a chance to speak to this great spirit. But things didn't exactly go as she'd planned.
Vrozhinpairmenth spoke of a place of power known as the "The Echoes of Tomorrow", and she got the sense it was outside of normal space and time. He showed her visions of this almost-spiritual peaceful realm that attracted astral beings and minds from across time and many different realms. He sensed a threat to The Echoes, something sapient -- something greedy -- actively seeking to control the echoes, but was not certain from who or what. He asked her to discover the true nature of the threat and end it before it could threaten The Echoes of Tomorrow. Failure could mean not merely the destruction of the sanctuary, but the shattering of space-time itself. In Mirzhen's time, the threat had yet to appear, so Vrozhinpairmenth sent her some years into her future to be ready to confront it at the peak of her powers.
After subjective hours of searing agony, she awoke, her pasts/futures/presents swimming in her head. When she came down the mountain everyone was shocked to see her; It had been 10 years since she went up for the rite of passage and never returned. Her prospective lovers had already mated and had children with others, her position as dead-speaker belonged to another, her parents and friends had all moved on, her kid sister was now older than she was.
After a few weeks of trying to find her footing, she eventually left, being unable to take being in this awkward home/un-home, taking only the clothes on her back, a handful of gold, and her cloak of rest.
In the last 2 years, she's been getting whatever jobs she can from the warm-bloods. A traveling elf merchant who used to visit her village comes by her new home on the circuit, offers work at reasonable rates. Some racism against kobolds, some discrimination against her lack of warm blood credentials, and her own pickiness made it hard to get the best jobs.
In the job she's most proud of, she saved a young goblin girl taken by a serial killer in Dracport. This was the third girl to go missing in a few months, but most warm bloods dismissed them as runaways or addicts for parents. The guards weren't solving the case; she responded to an ad placed by the desperate parents of the third girl. She worked together with, the human inspector assigned to the case, Kamal Burch. Though really she was trying to provide information he mostly ignored as he prioritized cases he could actually close. In a fit of pique, she charged into the killer's hideout alone and nearly died. He'd seen her coming and ambushed her, stabbing her in the chest and leaving her for dead after she collapsed. In desperation, she managed to torcha structural column and and bring a large chunk of the ceiling down on him. She patched herself up with a scroll and managed to find the girl in another area of the hideout - scared and hungry but safe and sound. Mirzhin stumbled, bleeding, back into the precinct with the missing girl in tow before passing out in the lobby. The killer's hideout was burned to the ground by her spell and unbeknownst to the public at large or Mirzhin herself, his body was never found. She was later able to help find the bodies of the other girls and bring some measure of closure to their parents. The press later dubbed the killer "The Schoolgirl Slayer".
The Dracport guards didn't have a spirit speaker on staff, so occasionally she would be brought in to assist for a nominal fee as a spiritual consultant, much to Kamal's irritation, who usually ended up stuck with her after their fruitful "first partnership". He was annoyed by her upper class airs and how vague the information provided by the dead could be. To his mind, the value she provided was....alright, maybe sometimes worth the cost, but she was so fucking annoying: an idealist who doesn't know what it takes to survive in the streets and objects to a payoff here or there or some a light roughing up of a suspect. And she was always going on about food! "That sandwich isn't fit for consumption, Inspector," "The honored spirit requests a side of fries, Inspector," "Inspector Burch, do you really eat at this dump every day?!" Utterly intolerable woman. But maybe, just maybe, if it was about something important enough he knows he could trust her, which is more than he can say about some of his colleagues.
Back when she became a full shaman 10 years ago, she joined the Circle of the Pale Heart, which has a long conclave every few years or so but only occasionally acts together. But sometimes, they act to prevent raiders who wish to plunder sacred tombs. They can't catch all the adventurers who wish to disturb the honored dead, but when enough of them fail it acts as a moderate deterrent for the merely greedy.
Enter a notorious gangster from Dracport who likes to fancy himself a patron of the arts and sciences, Vittorio Cavaducci. Several months ago he financed a raid to loot the sacred tombs of some heroic ancestors. Working together with stern mentor witch and annoying magus sister, Mirzhin and her team managed to drive off the expedition party. It was led by famous elven explorer-adventurer Arbane Nerigwyn who maybe resents this failure on his record. She got most of her magic items as treasure from that counterattack (or purchased with her share of the proceeds - there's an incredibly complicated treaty governing the split of proceeds from a joint operation like this). They burned the maps and reinforced the wards on the tomb to buy a few more years of peace for the honored dead. But all that was months ago.
Within the last few weeks, Mirzhin was wondering how to satisfy the request of a spirit whose talent she had borrowed. He'd asked for another taste of home-cooked stew when she smelled a damnably appetizing scent. It was Vel'tari, who was cooking up a stew for Brin and Tar'Xa. Mirzhin introduced herself and could hardly finish her request before Vel'tari insisted on feeding her. When the caravan was attacked by some hungry monster, Mirzhin showed great acumen and the merchant hired her on the spot.
Education
Trained to be a shaman from a young age, so knowledgeable in the ways of honoring the dead, and negotiating. Magic is more about vibes and instinct to her than memorization
Employment
Formerly dead-speaker for the village of Maplecliff.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Formerly dead-speaker of Maplecliff village
Member of Circle of the Pale Heart
Saved a young goblin girl from a serial killer who is definitely dead
Stopped famed elven explorer-adventurer Arbane Nerigwyn from looting a sacred tomb (together with the sisterhood)
Mental Trauma
It turns out everyone you know and love moving on without you is pretty rough, who knew? She tries to avoid thinking about it too much by throwing herself into her work.
Currently doesn't have too much going right in her life right now, so maybe isn't as careful as she ought to be.
Morality & Philosophy
Strong sense of justice. Maybe a bit overzealous about going off to kill evildoers.
Respectful to elders, the dead, and strong people.
person.sexuality
Bisexual, but doesn't really know it yet. Has had interest in boys in the past.
person.gender_identity
Female
Taboos
Disrespecting ancestors, looting the resting places of the dead without their consent (though perhaps an exception can be made for especially heinous individuals)

Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Goblin
Personality
Motivation
Fulfilling her duty to the dead
Stamp out evil before it can take root
Acquiring piles of treasure
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Cannot dance to save her life.
Likes & Dislikes
Love of fashion and likes to play with exotic styles.
Kind of a food snob, stickler for high quality ingredients
Virtues & Personality perks
Mirzhin has a bias to action and is always willing to help someone in need.
Vices & Personality flaws
Terrible dancer
Fairly materialistic
Personality Quirks
Scratches scales when nervous
Hygiene
Pretty fastidiously clean, as the warm-bloods will take any excuse to confirm their prejudices.

Maplecliff
Contacts & Relations
Cithril Naeyra, friendly traveling merchant elf who used to visit Maplecliff. Tends to make the rounds at a lot, has recommended jobs for her in the past or given rumors of trouble.
Kamal Burch, human investigator in Dracport. Slightly wayward, but has a heart of silver.
She's a member of the Circle of the Pale Heart, a sisterhood of shamans and similar wise-women. A few other notable members:
her mentor in the circle, Aerilaya, an elf witch who knows much about the old spirits and legends in the Palestone Kingdom
annoying kid sister Zhazszel, a magus who is now subjectively older than her.
Wealth & Financial state
Her most treasured possession is the cloak of feline rest her parents held onto after she was presumed dead. After that, it's definitely her Dweomerweave Robe, allowing her to wear something nice and new every day.
Family Ties
Parents are still alive. They were thrilled to see her alive at first, but they don't know how to deal with her now that she's alive again.
Kid sister is now older than she is, and married...
She writes her family and sister fairly regularly to tell them how she's doing. Only her mom really understands why she had to leave, but her family is still an important point of grounding, probably her biggest social outlet. Her relationship with her dad is complicated by his pride, he can't back her decision to go from being a very important shaman to "just another wastrel adventurer". Her relationship with her now-older kid sister is frustrating. They used to be close and sister used to look up to her but that's changed since she was dead.
Religious Views
While respecting most good gods, she has the most affinity for Falayna. Not especially devout, but will utter a "Falayna guide my hands" before going into battle.
Social Aptitude
She's typically polite, but can be short tempered when others look down on her.
She has little patience for excuses, especially while others are suffering.
Hobbies & Pets
Meditation, trying to sort through the pasts/futures/presents all around her imagination.
A form of exercise not dissimilar from Tai chi that she learned from some followers of Falayna
