Neiven grew close to his cousin Nardual Adrie half-elf thief. They both ran together with two other childhood half-elven friends Avedal Sylkas and Briarat Aelar thieving the streets of Verbobonc. More of a game and thrill of adventure than any necessity of need. You have seen agents of the The Battirovka Family operating around the city but have given them a wide birth fearing their attention.
Experience based on Neivens background running the streets of Verbobonc with his gang developed his skills consisting of Bargaining, haggling, Negotiating, Appraise to accurately value an object. Pilfer rich merchant homes, warehouses and wagons, then enjoyed fencing valuable objects at the pawnbroker in The Blind Beholder (F6) disguised as a human named "Ben".
Bargaining or haggling is a type of negotiation in which the buyer and seller of a good or service dispute the price which will be paid and the exact nature of the transaction that will take place, and eventually come to an agreement.
Gambling with Dice seemed to come naturally to you with nimble fingers a touch of "luck" bolstered by your illusions. Your favorite haunts include The Familiar Roost (formally the ‘Mighty Ducks’ Tavern) (D2) where you gamble and talk to ‘wildshaped’ druids from the Gnarley Forest. You find the different small animals and the way the Druids change into their forms fascinating. Another haunt was the The Red Don Inn (D3) but after taking too many coins in tricky dice Delon Redleaf has banned you from the tavern area. But you do enjoy hanging around outside to see the traffic of elven notables and news from Celene . Once, you have witnessed with great surprise and awe a visit from Melf, Prince Brightflame , of Celene Knights of Luna.
Lester’s House of Cards (E5) is a great place to practice your skills and where you can win much of your coins. Unfortunately, agents of The Battirovka Family run this establishment so you only visit occasionally and always in disguise. You have a run in with Terrance Olmerson and his men before and do not wish to repeat that experience. He was cordial with his invitation to join the "family" but ended with a veiled threat. Since then, you made sure to keep away from the guild and only visit guild business's in disguise.
Currently, you enjoy hanging out the The Bronze Unicorn Inn (F3) which you pay attention for news from the Adventures Guild (B26) and the ‘message’ service. Fallnore Constance knows you are on the look out to join the right adventuring group.
You are aware of the Adventures Guild (B26) and had thoughts on signing up as a member if you are unable to find companions to start your new life of adventure.
Since taking to the streets you were drawn out of curiosity to a shop called by the locals ‘Shady’s” run by an unpopular, loner elf in the Elven (Dawn) Quarter (D1-7) . The dark shop is called Hindsight (D5) . Unsatisfied with your role in the world and the future always on your mind you found yourself visiting there often until finally asked Shady for or a peek into your future. In exchange, she requested that you give up what you love the most. Your gang and life in Verbobonc. The vision Shady told you that your future holds a mad outcast druid, companions chosen by Fate, and of evil men only hate in their hearts, those whose minds are broken and therefore open to insinuation and dark whispers.
Shady fell into a trance following a ritual of communion with Istus Goddess of Fate. In raving insanity she screamed incoherent messages until she collapsed in fright. She told you she rarely has such made visions and the voice of Istus so alarmed. The ritual fills your soul with purpose and direction like you have never felt before. If you except the Goddess of Fate into your soul you will be granted the Luck of Istus once a day. Choose to re-roll any die.

With your oath and mission foremost on your mind fate once again seemed to be with you again. your cousin Taleasin Carewlein from Clan Meldarin of the Gnarley Forest is visiting with his father to see Viscount Wilfrick with heavy tidings of the Gnarley Forest . The two of you share your hopes and dreams and discover that you both wish to form an adventuring group and pursue the rumors of possibilities in south Verbobonc's Kron Hills and the Gnarley forest border. You both joined the Adventures Guild (B26) and hang out at The Bronze Unicorn Inn (F3) seeking likely candidates to form a group.
It is the day 4 in the month of Readying of the year 576CY in the city of Verbobonc. Winter shows great reluctance to release its grip on the Viscounty. The occasional sunny day, with balmy breezes hinting at the occasional sunny day to come can be suddenly overwhelmed by masses of dark clouds that spit sleet and cold rain. Yet the inns and taverns are doing a brisk business, as the inhabitants of Verbobonc seem resolved to shrug off the dreariness of the long winter and embrace the coming spring.
The markets are filled. Merchants are hawking harness and farm implements. Farmers have brought their spring lambs, shoats and calves. Goodwives proudly display their baskets of baskets of winter vegetables, turnips, potatoes, and cabbages. The promise of this year's harvest is represented by the baskets of seed, seedlings and cuttings that lure crowds of sturdy farm folk. The Festival of Readying is but a 7 days away. Those of the Old Faith celebrate the Festival of Readying on the 11th This is when Luna is full but Celene is new. This night is called Great Moon’s Glory.
The two of you have noticed the tensions between the Gnome and human communities of Verbobonc. The gnome trouble has been brewing for weeks. The Gnomesberg (Gnome Quarter - Verboektown) (G1-8) in the city have been less and less friendly as the weeks have passed. Now they are almost hostile toward humans. Of course the Elven Enclave (Verbobonc) strives to stay neutral but your father was notified by Bishop Haufren of St. Cuthburt that he is treating two two soldiers of the Mounted Borderers in his temple after patrolling in the foothills when where they were set upon by gnomes. You see that this is an opportunity to find adventure.

Mental Trauma
Humans of Verbobonc are racist against Elves and Gnomes. When you were very little a another human street gang caught you alone in merchant square and tied you to an Ipp tree stuffing a squirrel in your pants. After an hour a guard found and untied you sending you home with a warning not to cause any trouble and to stay in the Elven Quarter where "Your kind" is "kept". Now you have learned the art of disguise as a human to hide your elven characteristics. While association with humans you are able to easily hide your elven features.
