Adaman's Road
After a rather contentious lunch, though excellent food, we left the lodgings of Mistress Mardoon. Heading back to the Landlocked Lady, Jasper seemed have vaguely ventured to follow my advice, and decided to play nice. Oh we might just have ourselves a party here! He suggested some light cards and finally Mori reappeared. Reanimated might be more accurate. Still unclear if undead, seemed sentient and has some system to take the air. A rush of blood to the head might be stretch. Snappy dresser though. Gos doesn't need the money so of course clean up as gambler do. Jasper seemed content enough to take a couple of coins and walk away. And that's of course when the inquisition started. Ah, the faces, the questions, for a moment it took me back to those better times. Uthodurn. Soon enough, soon enough. I hope I fed them just enough to keep the wheels turning. A little out of practice. And we definitely need a better title than 'jaspers story' especially if he is going to insist on making himself the main character. Jasper and Gos went back to the Caravan, a forage tomorrow seems to be the first order of business.
Meaningless small talk until later. And at no point so far have I mentioned Marble who turned back out. Meditating, so she says. Guided by cards, a bundle of chaos brewing. A close eye should be kept. B could have control over her, but that remains to be tested. I paid a visit to Arianna. Just information.....although...…time enough later for that. Information. She seems straightforward enough, so I supposed. But then mysteries abound, my arrival expected. The local freedom fighters, the Golden Grin. Is D part of them, are they different things? What does he have me involved in this time? Happy to mount a rescue with the resounding success that resulted, but why why why is not yet clear. Arianna onside however, and any power in that place will lay through the landlocked lady so the value is clear.
The foraging fiasco. I asked Theo to keep an eye on Marble so at least we might know what she wields. A young lad though and attention easily earnt and lost. We found some suitable specimens, Something else we left lingering in the canopy. Death has touched this place. Our relocation ran us ragged, with a Treant towering once we awoke the woods. Dead but living. Mori seemed disturbed by this. The irony was lost, the battle eventually won. Gos lost his composure. Swinging wilding suggesting unfamiliarity or undiscipline. Jasper had some limits of illusion too, though the right idea at least. Marble did some damage. We took the head of the burned remains, further inspections seem to be taking a necrotic turn. Mori wants to check in with its past lives. He's carrying it. What he finds I hope he shares.
