Vim, Hated by the imperial elves for his bastard blood has lived his early life shunned, hated, and ashamed of his horns and skin that have brought him such pain. Born in the badlands to his dark elf mother Violet and tiefling father Vlad, Vim was subjected to vitriolic hate. The imperial elves who looked upon his pale blue skin, and protruding miss shapen horns were not only repulsed, but furious. Being beaten physically was nothing new to Vim, in fact he preferred the physical pain as it helped distract him from the nights where he lie awake wondering why his skin is tainted blue and why his head was cursed with the horns of his bastard father. Violet left to raise him alone had always told him to grit his teeth and bare with the pain for soon they will have enough coin to move to Dolten. Vim would hear his mother tell story after story about how Dolten is filled with people like them. Races of all kind live together without judgement and torment of the imperial elves. If one was hard to look at, Dolten would be their paradise. As the years go by, a silent rage boils inside Vim as he and Violet attempt to save enough coin to buy the supplies and security needed to traverse the badlands. More time passes and they have finally saved enough to travel. Vim and his mother head out one last time into the market to fetch the guards and request that they finally are ready to leave and start their new life in Dolten. They find the guard at the nearest Tavern and are told that the payment is accepted and to gather enough food for themselves for two months. Vim and Violet load onto the wagon and begin their journey. The days are long and hot, and the nights are short and cold, but nothing matters to them. They are finally going to Dolten where they can live among people like themselves. One month goes by with little changing between the days. Tonight is different though. The wagon stops and the two elven guards from the town turn to the back of the carriage. Vim confused, steps out of the wagon and before he can speak is grabbed and muffled by one of the guards. He struggles to scream, and is taken to the ground while the other guard starts to bind his arms. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time you horned bastard" The first guard hits Vim on the back of the head with the butt of his dagger. Dazed and confused Vim lie there, silent. The guard places the dagger onto Vim's tongue and slowely starts to cut it down the middle. Halfway through The searing hot pain recovers Vim from his daze and he bites down as hard as he can with his jagged teeth. The guard screams in agony and Violet awakens. Her darkvision showing clearly what was happening to Vim, she grabs a dagger and swiftly stabs the guard whose hand was bitten through the neck. The guard holding Vim shocked at the sight loosens his hold and sends a firey bolt that pierces Violet's stomach. Vim immediately overpowers him to the ground and grabs the neck of the guard and starts tightening his grip. As he tightens even more the guard grabs and shreds Vim's neck with a tearing spell. Not wanting her son to bear the nightmarish guilt of killing Violet slowly walks over and slits the guards throat while he isn't paying attention. Vim's tongue split and Neck torn and Violet's stomach pierced and burned are not fit to travel but have no choice. The medical supplies mean little to Vim and Violet as they do not have proper training to use them effectively. They disinfect Vim's tongue and neck, but have no idea how to provide proper support to an internal wound, especially one made from Magic. Two days pass, Vim is desperately trying to find any town, anyone who could provide help to his mother but nothing can be found. The badlands are vast and filled with creatures more terrifying than the guards. It is the Night of the third day. Violet has passed away. Vim dejected carries on into the desert. 4 months pass and he arrives at the border to Dolten . He has never seen trees so dense. It is a beautiful place. He digs a hole for his mothers rotted corpse, under an assortment of trees that he felt was worthy of Violet. Vim, filled with emptiness hears a call deep in the forests of Dolten. "Do you hunger for power boy?" Vim smiles.
