Personal history

Deral, a young child of shadowfell was sold by his parents to a rich family of vampires that ruled their town. He was taken in as a slave and put to work from dawn until night. His only friends were 2 other slaves a woman that used to cook the food named Marry Hanson and Mal Ladar that used to do all the hard physical work. They were the only slaves that weren't Shells so they learned to get along together.
When Deral was a teen, he willingly fell to the charms of one of the vampire's children, Caerson, falling in love with him. Caerson toyed around with Deral, tacking advantage of him, until one day, when their relationship got discovered by the elder vampires. Caerson's spirit got destroyed, turning him to ash and got reborn as a different person that just looked like him, so as not to lose a descendant. But Deral got punished for the relationship by endless torture, getting overworked, underfeed and humiliated in front of the town over and over.
Everything was horrible in Deral's life until one night in his 30's when in his sleep he met a roaming spirit called Uless, that promised him freedom in return for summoning him. All Uless needed to be a bunch of blood for a ritual and gave Deral a large amount of his powers to help him with the summoning. And so, that night, Deral's head was filled with the need for revenge. He slaughtered all the vampires for what they did to him and Caerson with Mal's help. Managing to summon Uless in the end.
Uless managed to open a portal to the mortal plane and in the meantime, Deral grabbed whatever he could. Beautiful clothes, valuables, and one cookbook written by Marry. After they went through the portal, Deral waked up in an unknown kingdom to him, but something was wrong. Uless and he fused trough some accident, Uless corrupting Derals right arm and his entire body.
In an unknown world, homeless and with no money now deral struggles to with his mental health, being obligated by Uless to drink the blood of innocent people and drinking himself to death. Now he is competing in a tournament so to obtain a favor for the king, to have the chance to speak with the most powerful mages in the world, with the hope that he would get separated from Uless.

Was taught to read and write by Marry when he was a young child (around 10y old)

Was a slave for the majority of his life, doing various things: cutting wood, cleaning and moving heavy furniture. Now he works at the docks, moving crates around.

Mental Trauma

-Was tortured for a good part of his life, making him obsessed with his freedom to a toxic point, hating any form of authority
-He scared Marry, which he treated like a mother until then, right before leaving to the mortal plane and feels extremely bad about it
-Very scared by The Witcher after he survived an encounter with it after he was left alone in the forest by Mal
-After seeing his "love" in the afterlife and getting called out by Uless that he was just taken advantage of, now he is scared of an actual romantic relationship
-The poorness of Shadowfell scarred him for life, making him open to cannibalism, eating worms or another weird thing. He is also used to undead to an uncomfortable level
