Born of a folix mother and a Celestial father, Hikari often finds herself alone. She and her mother were always on the move, never resting in one place for more than a few weeks. This made it hard for the little Kitsune to make friends and integrate herself into society. Hikari never met her father, and her mother refuses to talk about him. Though, when she was young, Hikari would often see a small tear form in her mother's eyes as she shut down her daughter's questions. As time passes, Kari stopped asking about her father all together, accepting the fact that she will never know him. This thought brought her a great deal of discomfort, because her dream of having a family that is whole will never come true.
 
Kari finds comfort in the woods, a place where she can be herself and practice her druidic magic. She feels at home there, amongst the trees and running rivers, the creatures of the forest are also kind to her; they do not judge her for being different. Amongst the village she feels like an outcast, and in the wilderness she feels as if she belongs. Can Hikari ever find a middle ground? A place to call "home"? Or is she destined to remain among the trees.
