Personal history
Born and raised in Palletey, Jeremiah grew up with his parents and grandpa.
Being a city of art, all of Jeremiah's relatives were artists of some sort.
His Grandfather was a Stonemason by trade, who carved beautiful patterns and scenes into all of his works, no matter how mundane.
His Mother carved beautiful statues and stone furniture.
His father was a master of color, painting abstract pieces of grand size and concept.
Jeremiah was 13 when the Eclipse that woke the world happened.
He was returning with his grandfather from the Temple of Death and were just outside the city when it turned to pure light, blinding his right eye.
Shutting his eyes, Jeremiah dove to where he last saw his grandfather and pulled him back outside of the city.
Since his grandfather had fully been within the city, he was fully blind; eyes and hair stark white.
They held each other as the city encased itself in a void-black shell.
In the weeks after the Eclipse, Jeremiah and his grandpa joined several other families to start a new life.
After finding other groups on the road from other destroyed cities, everyone agreed that something new would be better than living on a corpse.
The fools' march began.
Education
Growing up in Palletey, Jeremiah learned many things besides his regular schooling; how to work clay, how to carve stone, how to work a loom, and how to sing.
At Fools Bargain, he learned to forage and hunt, he learned herbalism and became so good at it the Lead Doctor (Susan Amaretti) took notice and took him under her wing.
Under her tutelage, Jeremiah became the youngest medic in Fools Bargain and later the youngest doctor (at 16).
Employment
In-between the events of the mountain cracking and the start of our adventure, Jeremiah worked as a doctor (usually making house calls and taking emergency jobs in the fields.
He also spent a lot of time in the Day-Care, helping take care of the children.
Accomplishments & Achievements
When the group of adolescents traversed the crystal cave, Jeremiah was among them. As a trainee medic, he ensured the health and safety of everyone on the mission.
Failures & Embarrassments
When he was still in training as a medic, Jeremiah found himself working the field during a harvest when one of the farmers (Dean Carson) was assaulted by one of the more violent species of land birds.
Jeremiah had helped with farming accidents in the fields before, but they new he was still in training, so he was tasked to keep Dean as stabilized as possible, while the other field workers went to get an experienced medic.
Despite keeping pressure on the worst of the wounds, Jeremiah was unable to slow the blood and Dean Carson died of his wounds.
Mental Trauma
He still has a physical reaction to sudden bright lights.
Not enough to cause a panic attack anymore, but perhaps on a bad day...
When his grandfather Ol'Judd disappeared to the Temple of Death, Jeremiah was left alone with no family nor any real ties to his home left as he didn't really know the other families from Palletey.
Since then he developed a fear of abandonment, and rather than becoming clingy, he instead grew distant.
Even after Ol'Judd returned, Jeremiah never relied on him or truly (re)grew close with him (Especially since Ol'Judd never gave him a real apology for leaving).
Now, as an adult, he doesn't have much of a social life (his closest friend is his house spirit Fester), but he does try to be a good role model for the youth of Fools Bargain (he will always do what he can to be there for them, so that they can feel safe and know someone is looking out for them).
