Her childhood was unremarkable, she was cared for well enough and received a good formal and martial education. She took a noticeable interest in the arcane and anything involving making things. She liked to tinker with broken things around the monastery, repairing and recycling the scraps leftover by other monks.
Zell wasn't particularly social or unsocial, she interacted with her peers around her growing up, but would probably not have had many friends if she wasn't forced to live with so many people.
She comes off as awkward at times, having spent more time with tomes than people, her social skills are a little rusty. However, she isn't particularly rude or brash, having learned decent manners growing up with rather strict monks.
However, having grown up among mostly humans, most of the people that she grew up with have long passed away. She still keeps in contact with the few elves that are still alive, but is not particularly close with them as she is a few centuries younger than them, and is still seen as relatively young for an elf.
Seeing that there was more than enough other students to fill the needed roles within the monastery, and having spent a human's lifetime studying indoors, she left to find her next path in life. She still keeps in contact with her monk's order, sending various notes back to them in order to grow her archive of resources.
Zell has done a few odd jobs here and there to fund her travels, such as vermin extermination, or a few escort missions with caravans and other hired mercenaries. Most of her travels have been largely uneventful thus far, until she ventured into the Underdark to research a certain fungus that only grows underground.
Appearance
Physical Description
Tall and lean, toned but not overly muscular. Stronger than she looks.
Facial Features
She has green almond shaped eyes, with high cheekbones and thin eyebrows. Her lips are full and slightly upturned, and though her skin is pale, she tends to turn pink when the temperature changes too suddenly or when it gets chilly out.
Physical quirks
Her feet turn slightly inward and she tend to fiddle with her fingers subconsciously. Gives herself hangnails often unintentionally.
Apparel & Accessories
She wears a book strapped to her much like a wizard would wear a spell book. This is her research notebook.
Mentality
Personal history
Zell wasn't particularly social or unsocial, she interacted with her peers around her growing up, but would probably not have had many friends if she wasn't forced to live with so many people.

Education
Zell was well educated at the monastery, in body and mind. Having taken the pursuit of knowledge to heart, Zell is fascinated by any research she can get her hands on.
Employment
Zell has done a few odd jobs here and there to fund her travels, such as vermin extermination, or a few escort missions with caravans and other hired mercenaries. Most of her travels have been largely uneventful thus far, until she ventured into the Underdark.
Accomplishments & Achievements
She has written several well received papers on the phases of the moon and the effect on local fungus that grows only on one subspecies of tree. Riveting.
Failures & Embarrassments
Getting enslaved with Shammin was definitely a low point for Zell.
Mental Trauma
Being enslaved was the first real lasting trauma Zell has had to endure. However, having endured it with Shammin has made it somewhat unbelievable, the memory coming off like it was a fever dream, the gnome a source of nonstop ridiculous distraction during an otherwise grim time.
Morality & Philosophy
Although she see value in all life, that doesn't mean that she doesn't value her own life above others. She isn't afraid to kill enemies that attack her first, or that pose an immediate threat. Sometimes she tends to overlook the gray areas of morality and thinks of things in black and white, seeing herself as "the good guy".
