Physical Description
Healthy
Fairly standard human build. Not really bulging muscles or anything like that, but most of them are are quite toned due to Arian's focus on maintaining a constant workout routine.
Body Features
Scarring and bruising can be all over Arian's body, considering he doesn't partake in the use of armor much. Here are some of them, and their possible causes.
- Both hands have old scarring going from the knuckles to the wrist, that has somewhat the apperance of segmented lightning. Indicative of heavy trauma to the hands from hitting something you shouldn't have.
- Down both arms are a couple of mostly linear scars (some old, some fresher). Some are shorter, and lies horizontally. Other are either diagonal or vertical (or a mix). Indicative of cuts, made from more than one blade (some are thinner, precise, while others seem to have been made with a thicker, uneven blade).
- The rest of the body also have some scars that don't seem to fade away fully. There is a slim eggshaped scar in the lower right-most part of the chest with a twist to it (blade stab), a mostly faded burn-scar on the left shoulder (scorching ray), a set of 3 paraell lined scars running down the left arm (dragon claw), another set of the same lines running down the back to the hipbone (dragon claw) a somewhat horizontal cut across the gut (longsword cut), a horizontal thin cut beginning from the shoulder blade down to the hip (whip slash), an pair of 8 smaller marks on the right thigh (vampiric bite), and a branching star in on the left nipple (lightning bolt).
Most other scars and bruises tend to heal up rather nicely and disappear fade away over a week or so of quiet rest.
Arian's nails are mostly relatively short. He keeps them like this cause the pain of breaking one against a breastplate isn't something you need in the middle of combat.
His skin-tone is a paler eggshell. This is a relatively normal phenomenon for people born in Caxin, as the mountains and hills sorrounding the town limits the amount of sun it gets. It has, during his journey, gotten a little more color on select areas though (arms, head and neck).
Facial Features
Arian's hair is a darker shade of brown, reminiscent of spruce bark. It's generally let grow on it's own time, but anytime it needs a cut, he tends to get it cut quite a bit down (keeping some length in the back, but much thinner), whereas in the front he tends to get a good portion removed to allow him free visage.
His eyes are a fairly vibrant blue, reminiscent of a nice, blue pond. Only one in his family (mom, dad and sister) with blue eyes, although his grandparents have blue eyes. Ocasionally, especially if in combat or generally being observant, the eyes might change color closer to magenta.
He has a thin, but healthy chinbeard in a lighter shade of brown than his hair, that he ocasionally cuts down a bit.
His nose has hintage towards having been broken, or at least heavily damaged at some point.
Hiding underneath the beard on the right-most side is a small mostly vertical scar. It has about the same depth/impression as some of the ones on his body. Indicative of a cut made to his head, that was probably meant to be lethal.

Physical quirks
Because of his training towards staying focused and keeping a somewhat solid facade, Arian is often seen with a neutral, but still mildly aggressive face. Or, a resting bitch face.
After a visit to a town, he has begun to tap his fingers or a foot whenever things get too quiet. Not noisy enough to say, alert enemies if trying to stealth, but... noticable if one listens.
Apparel & Accessories
Arian has changed his outfit a couple of times already. His current outfit is mostly designed so it can be used for a longer period of time without needing major changes.
Maroon red shirt, with the sleeves tucked past the elbow (pretty well-fitted, still a bit loose tho).
A pair of well-made, but simple, light brown pants (loose).
A matte black, sleeveless coat, with gold accenting along the edges.
A pair of well-made, and solid travel boots, with reinforcements in treated leather, and a pair of gray woolen socks (boots are at least functionally repalced with Icarus Boots, but visually they are the same).
A set of enchanted, light metal bracers covers the arms right before the hands (Bracers of Protection).
A pair of leather gloves (cushioned with wool on the inside), with small metal plates sewn on top (Cestus Gloves).
A simple leather belt, tucked into itself, and a nice leather shoulder-bag (Bag of Holding).
In terms of jewelery, Arian is wearing the following pieces:
A silver beaded amulet, with a silver setting, in which sits a green, polished emerald (Amulet of the Hunter).
A blue steel ring, that is cold to the touch, om the right middlefinger (Ring of Frost).
A black ebony ring, on the left middlefinger.
Special abilities
As a trained Monk, Arian can tap into and manipulate his own Ki to aid him when needed. In addition, he can, to a limited degree, tap into the Ki of others.
Whether because of his Bloodline or something else, Arian is gifted with limited Psionic potential. Because he hasn't trained with it much, it mostly appears as unstable arcs of magenta energy. But through mental training in binding it to Ki, he has been able to harness the Psionic energy into something useful both in combat and social situations.
Because Arian's Ki and Psionic potential is linked in such a way, it's very much a dual-edged sword. If his KI is under control and maintained at a constant level, his Psionic potential is at it's highest. However, when the Psionic energy taps too deeply into the control of his Ki, both of them become unstable.
Mentality
Personal history
Arian was born the first child of Jybil Kain Vulpin and Miran Vulpin. He was a kid. What, you're expecting me to write his entire life story? Another day choombas.
Education
Arian went through his youth with mostly homeschooling by his mom and grandparents. As they had been travelling on the roads, and their trades around Asteria, this gave him ample oppurtunity to at least learn the basics of academia.
His father also taught him, although not much in the means of academia or the like, but instead in how one takes care of a farm. While this wasn't a subject that necessarily interested him, he listened nevertheless.
It wasn't before he met and subsequently began training with Jebed that his studies in academia increased. As Jebed put it: "I need someone who can read, write, and think for themself. Get to it". Through the gnomes teachings Arian learnt the majority of the knowledge he needed to become an archaeologist, and the rest he learnt through his own curiosity. Jebed's training of him in regard to combat also means that Arian has a strong understanding when it comes to martial arts.
Some of Arian's strongest learned points are things related to information. History, Arcana and Religion are subjects he has spent plenty of time on, as well the finding and the Investigation of these subjects. His time on the road has also taught him some things, as his knowledge when it comes to Survival also has improved. His martial arts training also means that that he is quite skilled at using Acrobatics to make the most out of a treacherous surface.
Employment
While he was young (9 - 16), Arian worked for his father at their farm. He was paid for this (2 sp a week), but he couldn't access this money before he was an adult. It was more of a formality thing, as his father did give him pocket money to ocasionally buy small things with, and most of the money he earned went right back to the family coffers.
When he began his studies with Jebed, for the first couple of years it was as a sort of unpaid intern, as he was more or less paying for what he was learning by doing the small works Jebed asked him to. When he turned 19, and this internship ended, Jebed began to pay him (5 sp a week), as well as allowing him to use a room made for him. This work mostly consisted of helping him with translating, identifying, and in other ways categorizing whatever was found inside the ruins of Granite Hall.
Currently, as an adventurer along with the rest of the party, Arian doesn't have an actual employer. Although the closest thing they have to it would be the black dragon Brilrum Ravyrd, as they are assisting him in dealing with the aggressive forces of the Old Order.
He is also still, to some degree at least, answering to Master Jebed, and sending whatever interesting research and information he record back to him.

- Helped secure a deal in Shadehost when Jebed was failing to.
- Broke a leg and 2 ribs on Durn Linal'sro, broke the knee-caps on one of his goons, and had the town guard recognise it as self-defense.
- Assisted with uncovering the murder of Venrick Marsin, and securing the affected people of a small village east of Nabal when attacked by gnolls (Juniper and Vick)
- Assisted in saving Princess Sylstiana Fentoris (Juniper and Vick)
- Assisted in returning Brilrum Ravyrd to his father (Juniper and Vick)
- Uncovered his link to the Belmont Bloodline, and assisted in keeping the weapon within the tomb out of the Order's grasp (Juniper)

- Became the most recent Belmont to wield Vampire Killer (this one is kinda neutral for him... but I mean, it's pretty darn cool)

Mental Trauma
Arian doesn't do well with screaming, especially the young adult female kind. An incident involing his ex-girlfriend is to blame for that. It generally just means he'll be locked down in paralytic reminiscence for a bit.
After a visit to Melahil, Arian has had more and more difficulty working in silence. It's not like he can't work in it, he can push through it, but over longer periods of time it'll eventually break him down. He will always try to get something to make light background noise, such as a a crackling fireplace if on the move, or a window and the sounds of a town if stationary.
Intellectual Characteristics
Arian knows stuff, and he doesn't mind sharing it. His information is in a fairly specific field, and he likes ocasionally showing it off.
Morality & Philosophy
Coming from a village that never had much in the way of judge or jury, Arian started out a bit closed minded when regarding matters of law, especially when it came to punishment.
In his eyes, the moment a person attacks another person, they are exempt from any trial or fair judgement (with some fair exceptions). You attack someone else with intention of killing them, you just signed yourself up for the death sentence. This also shows in how Arian's general perception of punishment should involve something physical.
This also means that the town "laws and ways" of Caxin has kinda stuck with Arian. In his eyes, if a relationship doesn't work, leave. Break up, get it over with. Don't cheat, that's just ruining any chance of making anything else work.
This has changed a bit, considering a lot of their jobs involving humanoids has involved not killing them, and Arian has had to take this somewhat to heart.
