2021-09-08 - The Black Abyss Report

General Summary

We found our heroes in the Black Abyss, confronted by a chaotic and strange landscape. While Cramus studied the obelysk Zylgwynn Mun found a note from Martek which explained that he was forcing to deal with someone messing with his plans, an unnamed planeswalker.   Orynn Mun and Thallan snuck down the cooridor and found two creatures in conversation over Kaddok's helmet. However, when they got the party together the corridor was empty. Zylgwynn Mun cast Detect Good and Evil and identified that a large millipeed was actually a fiend. They talked for a bit and he explained that Kaddok had to choose between death and death and that others were serving him now. He departed without much of value given.   At the end of the road they found a cliff and a tornado that travelled to the bottom. Grimogall Varangr put on a rope and jumped with Zylgwynn folling right after they untied the rope and everyone arrived in the bottom of the cliff.   They explored a bone structure that appeared to have been part of a ritual of somekind. They found Kaddok's armor, broken gems, and evidence that a large winged creature had flown away. Kaddok. Thallan told a story about a little bird named, Franklin, and everyone got a short rest during it.   As they progressed through the linear path they found themselves in a field with white fingers sticking up out of a red ground surrounded by four demonic centaurs creatures who saw our heroes and rushed to battle. The party was quick to battle and getting a head start cast a wall of flames and cloud of blades. The creatures, however, responded with blasts of electric energy that slashed through the party - wounding Zylgwynn Mun considerably. Ultimately, the party was able to succeed with a hail of glass arrows and a massive heal. The last creature died opening up the path forward.   Ultimately, the party came to the end of the path and in the calm eye of a roaring red swarm they found floating islands, a wooden plaque and crawling out from beneath the floating island was the creature formerly known as Kaddok, now Kaddok the Terrible. A partially undead, partially demonic dragon who had set his eyes on killing the heroes and taking Martek's power for himeself and killing Khalitharius. It was here we left our heroes.
