Supporting Cast
  • Thane Brayum Ironfist
Goliath war general. Most skilled combatant in all of Morat.
  • Duchess Doranne Winterfell
Driven, calculating leader of Rura. A fiercesome warrior in her own right.
  • Lord Malvar Bloodstone
The tiefling arrived in Morat by boat from Galfroc with not but a mighty blade and a mind full of stories. Despite this, he managed to climb his way up the social latter through fearsome magical prowess and perhaps even more formidable wit, before becoming the ruler of the entire province. He has a great taste for the finer things of life, causing some to believe he is not but an aristocratic dandy. These tend to be proven wrong, either by Malvar's shrewd mind or at the edge of his otherworldly blade.
  • Ronald Braithwaite
Drazer has been the seat of power for generations, as the Braithwaite family has handed the crown down from father to son. Generally, the family has been able to keep the peace within the kingdom, however the current king, Ronald, has gained a reputation of weakness and indecision. This came to a boiling point when King Roland failed to adequately respond to the threat of the Archdemon Arkmador arriving in Galfroc. While neighbouring nations increased their armies in response, sent scholars to research the summoning to prevent it in the future, or started training spellcasters to combat potential future attacks, Ronald neglected to take any action, though there are rumors that he began to assemble a provincial militia to protect himself. His actions have cause unease in the kingdom, as some plot against him, while others hope that his young son will prove a better leader should Ronald meet an untimely end.
  • Prince Trenton Braithwaite
The teenage heir of the throne for Drazer and Morat. Earnest, but niave, he means well and wishes to do what is best for Morat, while salvaging his father's legacy.

A Coming Together

King Ronald Braithwaite has summoned you all to Drazer for a dinner party. Such occasions are common. This diner will be attended by the figureheads of all the provinces of Morat, the emotions of which are boiling increasingly close to the surface.

Discontent rises across Morat. Faith in King Braitwaite reaches an all time low, as popular opinion is that he has failed to adequately respond to the summoning of the Archdemon Arkmador in Galfroc. While that threat was vanquished, the king couldn't stop his parties and revelry long enough to even assemble a royal guard, let alone a national army or any form of defence. Had Arkmador not been vanquished, would Morat have been next? Sure there were nations between them, but they had standing military presence. Morat had balls and feasts. No one is fighting off an archdemon with a turkey leg, least of all the commonfolk in Morat's many territories. The lords and ladies have heard this displeasure of their people, and have begun to take action. Some armed and trained civilians to form crude militia, and eventually provincial militaries. Spies were assembled, and sent to the capitol and to other territories to learn secrets and report back. Alliances and backroom deals were made. with a great deal of shadowed hand scratching. Rumours of a change on the throne run rampant. Many a lord and lady dream of taking that role themselves, and vie for positions that would potentially lead to such an opportunity. This has only furthered the unrest, as every territory begins to see the others as their adversaries, unless these shaky alliances can hold firm in the months to come...
