Session 4: The cold hard truth Report

General Summary

Session 4 was a smash hit! Dare I say one of the best sessions to date! Here is the session report; keep in mind I added somethings here for clarity.

The Room

• The desk seemed like it has not been touched in a very long time.
• Peepholes line the room; they look into Zettaras room, the hallway, and another hidden room.

The Box

• A picture of the old queen with the word "deceased" written next to it.
• A silver ring with the initials A.B. engraved on it.
• A drawn picture of Zettara with the word "gone" written next to it.
• A drawn picture of Lilac with the word "indisposed" written next to it.
• A drawn picture of a young man with the word "indisposed" written next to it.
• A drawn picture of a young woman with the word "mine" written on it. Next to "mine," someone else wrote NO in black ink. These bubble letters match the bubble letters in the other room, under the carpet.

The Other Room

• This room has a boarded-up door and window: a closet, a bed, and a dresser. 
• They also find cups and trays. 
• 4 sets of different boots: size 5, size 6, size 9, and size 15. 
• No dust in this room; it has been used recently. 
• Under the bed, they find A wooden sword, 2 teddy bears, and a JR spellbook. One of the teddy bears is a brown bear that has a lot of age to it. The other is baby blue and is very new, and it still has its price tag. 
• In the dresser, they find clothing that is too big and too small. The clothing confirms that there was at least one girl here. Bloody hand wrappings. 2 notes (you can find these on the sidebar). 
• They find a pyramid on the back of the dresser. 

 The Carpet

• Doodles all over the wooden floor, the drawings go from looking like stick figures to showcasing full blow anatomy. 
• The biggest drawing showcases a bird flying into the sun, drawn with blood. It was old. 
• A trapdoor under the bed. 
• A trapdoor in the middle of the room.  

• At the moment, an elf lady assumed she wrote the note found in the dresser (sidebar). 
• An older lady, she had her eyes, mouth, and stomach stitched shut. On the inside of her body, it said: Hear no evil, you saw too much, choke on this bitch." 
• A rat comes out of the older lady and pukes out black gunk. 
• They also found the baby prince, who is later called the bastard son. He looks to be drained of all his magic. 

• This creature was a cross of many races. It looked like someone had stitched it together. 
• It had piercing blue eyes. 
• The darkness was darkvision proof. 

Eavesdropping in the smaller room

• The group encounters Libertas, who stopped Kali from opening the dresser. She says she has been watching Kali this whole time. She tells the group they're snooping, and gives them two invisibility potions. 
• They spot a man in a black tuxedo yelling at a maid. "You had one job!" before he seems to drain her of her magic and life force. 
• He has black hair. 
• Stands about 6'4 and looks human. 
• His eyes are translucent and purple. 

Rewards Granted

The group hit level 3!

Character(s) interacted with

Zattara: She is the 16-year-old sister of Lilac. She was saved from the slave keeper; right from the gate, it seems she is very capable of using magic.   Lilac: She insisted the group help her save her sister; when the group got stuck in the room, she went missing.   Topaz: She was back at the arena; she seemed to have been attacked. Her right horn is broken, and her tail was cropped. Topaz is a Tartarus Born.   Samual Marshal: The ghost who keeps track of who dies in the castle. He called Lilac a young princess. He often plays fetch with Harper.   The group also saw various "clones" with different horns and different eyes.

Notes

• The whole castle has some kind of abomination inside. It is a cross between celestial, fiend, and undead. 
• The elf lady killed herself; she was very guilty. 
• A mob killed the older lady. 
• There was a silhouette next to Samual as the group left the castle. It was a girl, but the group could not see much more. 
• Samual was there when the castle was built. 
• The magic at the castle is "dirty." 

Dark magic and Broken Magic 

• Broken magic seems to target magic users. The goal is to infect the user and break their magic. Killing them slowly. 

Back at the arena

• Nasuan seems to have been replaced. His horns look like tusks on his head; his eyes are different. 
• The group finds a no pets sign in their room. It seems Stow Away was hit with a fireball; he is currently healing. 
• Topaz was attacked, she takes them to get Zettara so they can get out of the arena. 
• Topaz had no idea there was a new Queen and thought the royal family was sure to help them. 
• Unahana has been replaced multiple times. 
• Zettara was clearly hurt, so she does not put up much of a fight after rescuing. 

Other 

• The group uses 2 health potions—1 on Stow Away and 1 on Zettara.
