Weekly Session: April 21 2025

General Summary

After our heroes battle at the portal to enter the domain of Thalor, the vanguard decided it was time to rest up, the battle was hard and the team wanted to rest up some to ensure they could be strong in their next step of their journey. Upon waking up from his short nap, Herbert mentioned wanting breakfast, to which Delaware Diaz begrudgingly agreed with. They warmed up sausages from Delaware and melted some of Herbert's endless supply of caramel candies, having a sweet and savory meal.   The first to cross into the domain of Thalor was Delaware Diaz, though the circumstances weren't agreed to up front, with Basil pushing Delaware Diaz through the portal. On the other side, the vanguard found the desolation that was the Forge of Despair, the domain of Thalor, though the state was worst than normal as noticed by Stu. They entered the warehouse rows finding dead bodies, the souls with nothing on them besides rags showed no sign of aggression, but the overseers had stab wounds in their back.   They found their way to Thalor's palace, a 50 story high tall building, entering the atrium, which had a statue to the god himself. The vanguard had to climb the 50 stairs, entering the top the floor. There Herbert, with the aid of Stu's invisibility spell, was able to get close to Thalor's office, which was occupied by a few survivors. Herbert, forgetting he was still invisible, cast a spell breaking it, surprising all parties. The obvious leader, an orc man in an armor emanating a dark and foreboding aura, looked at the vanguard dismissively and told his group to kill them. With that the orc disappeared into a portal in the room, which closed after him.   The vanguard had to defend themselves against two swashbucklers in a similar uniform, closely resembling a knight as well. There was also an archer and an illusionist wizard. After a long, drawn out battle, causing both Herbert and Caden to pass out from their wounds, Stu was able to convince the archer to lay down their bow, who suggested to the swashbucklers to do the same, which they did begrudgingly. Combat came to a close, with the party stabilizing both Caden and Herbert.
