Weekly Session: April 7 2025

General Summary

The party returned to pickup their stowed items in Citadel Aegis, entering the formation grounds which had a lot of activity. Soldiers moving crates and cargo into multiple of the self propelled carriages. They met a more personable supply officer who was being overseen by a Command Thorne, which even the supply officer seemed to have not nice remarks about. The vanguard quickly got on the first transport as they quite clearly were getting on the dark side of Command Thorne, and Stu caught on it was time to get out. During this leg of the journey to Watcher's Vigil, the trip was done in a purely cargo partially filled carriage, causing boxes to jostle around, even hurting Stu and Delaware Diaz.   Upon reaching Watcher's Vigil, they met some a soldier that provided rumors that things have changed as of late. Rumors are going about an increasing tense situation at the northern outpost of Ironhold Bastion. The vanguard used a better planned carriage, filled with soldiers that didn't feel very sociable with them. They did not talk to the vanguard and something didn't sit right with Delaware Diaz. Upon hitting Ironhold Bastion, they were greeted by a kobold, who was very short and terse with the group. Instead of previous stops, they were stopped outside the Ironhold Bastion, not inside. They were approached by two fully armed guards, ready for action, and interrogated their purpose. Instead of offering a carriage, they were told the general direction of their destination. Delaware Diaz noticed that the guards uniform wasn't right, the sigil for the Order of the Shield was worn and ripped, not well maintained by the other stops.   After traveling by foot for a few hours, they came upon their destination, The Tyrant's Guard. There they ran into a skirmish with a knight in dark armor and an odd sigil. There was also an elf archer and a kobold sorcerer defending the fortification. After a tough fight, the vanguard was able to defeat the kobold, then the knight, and with a final vicious mockery about the loneliness of the last remaining archer, they fell. With that, the vanguard decided to break camp to evening.
