Session III: Dafuq is Goin On In Phandalin
General Summary
The party returned to Phandalin, returning the Lionshield Coster's goods in exchange for another 50 GP. In speaking with its owner, one Lienne Graywind, and also the local city executive, they learn of a mercenary guild that has put down roots there and has been extorting and terrorizing the locals. Despite Townmaster Harbin's protestations that the Redguards are "not that much of a problem", the party decides to investigate. Upon checking out the seedier of the towns' two taverns where the Redguards have been reported to be milling out in between "patrols" where they go around and collect protection money from everyone they can, the party tried to push through a few at the entrance and end up in a fight with the Redguards present. One, knocked prone in the final round of combat by Mischief's ball bearings, was taken prisoner, intimated thoroughly via physical force into revealing everything he knew about his organizations' leadership and where their operations were based out of. The party then brought him back to one of the two jail cells built into the town hall for holding until they could deal with those at the top of the guild.

Seemingly intimidated by the local Redguards, he nonetheless has been willing to house prisoners taken by the PCs.
