Session 21: The Twilight Arrival Report

General Summary

The party emerged into a enormous underground cavern dominated by an immense fungal forest and lit from above by luminescent tracery on the cavern wall.  They noticed a squat, stone building to their left down a path that seemed to switchback into the forest below.  Investigating the building they found three Black Puddings slowly dissolving several corpses.  After defeating the oozes the party explored the building and came to the conclusion that it was some kind of watch post.  They discovered some food rations, a few interesting treasures, several small obsidian spheres in the remains of the oozes as well as what appeared to be 5 riding spiders in an outbuilding behind the watchpost.   As they contemplated what to do next, they heard someone call out announcing themselves to be approaching the watch tower: "Hail the First Watch!"  They met Tontrell Moldknuckle, a wizened old man who appeared to be a gnome but with black skin and shock white hair, who seemed to have come to trade with the occupants of the watch house and while he was sad to hear of their demise, he quickly realized that the party may be willing to trade and transitioned into haggling.  The party was able to secure a few choice items as well as a map of the area they had entered which they learned was called the "Mona Dun".  Trell mentioned a group of people called the 'Dunohin' as well as a city called 'Endan Dun' which he was very confused to hear that Mizuho (in her guise as a drow) had never heard of.   His trading done, Trell bid the party farewell after marking on the map where his home was located, somewhere inside the fungal forest that he said was named the Beryl Mycillium.   The Party then sat down to analyze their situation and decide what their next course of action should be.
