Broken Obelisk Session 7 Report
General Summary
Session report: 16-02-2025
The party waits for the supplies to be loaded into the cargo hold of the ship and decide to go to The Happy Beholder tavern. However before they left the ship Bruise notices that Nancy, the changeling girl is being pulled into the pocket plane by Fa-Medve. He confronts him and punches him to make him let go but the room closes. The others hear the shouting and see Bruise fighting with Fa-Medve. Trix casts a Hold Person spell on Fa-Medve and paralyses him while Torold holds him at sword angered by the attack on the child. Bruise cuffs himself to the paralyzed bard to make sure he can't escape.
After a short interrogation of Fa-Medve, Torold challenges him to a duel of honor on the deck. On deck the duel starts with the bard getting badly injured by the paladin's divine fury and drops to his knees to ask for mercy. However he plunges his blade into his body and kills him on the floor. The party watches in a mix of horror and confusion while the ship's cleric comes out to see what the noise is about. He carries the body off into the bowels of the ship to dispose of it with a magical ritual.
They take the night to rest up and leave for Torold's hometown to foster the child with his family. Setting down at the small rural town build around the hill country west of Neverwinter. Terramourn Manor, a fortified manor house sits on-top of a hill surrounded by stone walls bearing the glyphs of Deneir. Torold leads them through town and up the simple stone path to the drawbridge into the manor and meets his twin brothers in the courtyard. Meeting up with his sister in the stables they move to the house to discuss the adoption with his parents.
After a difficult discussion the lord and lady of the manor agree to foster the child as an heir of the heir in case anything happens to Torold. His sister agrees to take care of the child and keep an eye out. During dinner Torold convinces his mother to let him borrow Glyphwarden, the fabled shield of Luther Terramourn. On the way he catches up with his sister and tells her the child is actually a changeling and can change shape.
They go back to the ship and head off to the ruins of Thundertree to steal the keyshard from the dragon. Arriving at the ruined town they see something has destroyed the houses and ripped the zombies apart with deep claw marks scarring the ground. Seeing the dragon's tail drooped over the old wizard's tower they avoid the area and start searching for the friendly druid they met before. The house she lived in has been turned to rubble and Bruise finds some old tracks leading away into the forest.
After searching for awhile Geralt magically asks his red fox for help and he says the scent belongs to a "fox but not a fox". They travel for an hour but lose the scent and Ron decides to climb a tree and yell for the druid to come out. But he gets no reply and the party takes a moment to think about what to do next.
