Session 70: Bandits and Regrets Report
General Summary
Deciding to take a moment and regroup, having been deliberately and obviously scouted, the Scales did not feel like riding into the trap likely being set. Instead the scales devised a plan to use A'lars teleportation magic to send them just outside of the basin and above the bandit camp. With a few minutes of prepping the spells he would send one group then the second thru. All landing relatively close by they quickly regrouped. Indalell and Ayrien moved to scout the bandits base down below. Finding only a skeleton crew present, Ayrien would head back while Indalell remained hidden to observe. They decided to attack at dawn and eliminate the bandits here and destroy Angelique's base of operation.
Once again using his teleportation magic the Scales would appear in the camps center just as breakfast was being served. Adalon upon his drake would swoop down to engage the gaurds in the tower, while the Scales soon found the bandits were waiting for them, guns at the ready and thunderstones being hurled. Despite their surprise attack being ambushed, the Scales made short work of the handful of bandits, two surviving the fury of Scales blades.
Rousing the two, A'lar and Ismaril would begin interrogating while the others set up watch and began turning over the camp. One bandit, calling himself Ignacio proved more co-operative and under Ismaril and A'lar scrutiny of the suffering they had caused would break down apologizing while the other sneered and called him a coward. Ayrien would note smoke in the distance and come back to alert the others. The less then helpful bandit would laugh, A'lar growing a bit on edge at his laughter asking what that was all about. "Shes gonna burn every homestead, kill every settler between here and the town to draw you to her...she wants that ones head for killing her man," nodding to Ayrien. The man would then laugh again. The sheers A'lar rarely used would be quickly drawn to hand and with their sharp blades he would slit the mans throat. "I did not care for his enjoyment at the suffering of the innocent," he would say to the still sobbing and blubbering Ignacio. "Ignacio if you want to start to make amends, take all this stolen loot back to town and turn it in, then go make better decisions." With that the scales would utalize his teleport magic again returning to the township to consult with Darion. A'lar would decide to use his wand of setting to reach out to Angelique to arrange a Duel between her and Ayrien to settle this without burning out and harming the settlers. The place was decided halfway between both of them at a small township call Dry Gulch.
