Session 60: Into the Woods Report
General Summary
The Scales would celebrate the longest night among the court of the Duke of Evreux and then set out the following day. The snow storms had subsided and were replaced by thick fog. This however did not disrupt Ayrien as she carefully picked the paths through the forest which lead into the lands of Lilselion. 4 days of travel into the thick wood and many of the scales felt they were being watched, maybe even stalked but they could never find any sign of elf nor creature. On the fifth they began to notice signs of trespassers, remains of draconiens and kobolds left to rot in the woods littered with arrows, clearly a warning to others. Pushing on A'lar would call into the emptiness of the winter wood that they had a writ of passage from their lord Duke of Evreux. Towards the evening his calls would finally be answered as a half dozen mounds of snow would snap to life, revealing Elven Waywatchers buried beneath bows at the read, and a half dozen more materialized in the trees, their arrows trained on the band. A'lar would introduce himself and ask for their captain. A dark haired elf with rich bronze skin tone would stride forth and introduce himself as captain Anar. "Anar? A'lar? We have so much in common already!" A'lar would exclaim. "3 letters it seems," the stoic captain would reply without looking up from the writ. At his side was a young elf with an exceptionally vibrant golden hue to her air and sky blue eyes. With the most sublte of movements his command to the other watchers was given, bows would be lowered and arrows returned to quivers. "Come, this way, we shall travel thru the trees in the morning," Anar would offer to them as he lead them to their base camp.
The watchers camp would be a serries of tree houses, comfortable, camouflaged, and defensable. In the morning a Druid of the band would open a way thru the trees and they would teleport into the city of Lilselion. The city held a mix of archetecture harkening to the various elven cultures, it was built into the forest itself melding both nature and necessity. A great waterfall fell at the cities heart and carried chunks of ice down river thru the great metropolis. Anar would offer his home for the scales to use while they were here, and advised them to find the Lady Asuri, a powerful spiritualist. A'lar would conscript the young blonde elf to be his guide, who had introduced herself as Linire, and set out. Indalell would set out to find a gift for the Princess of Moonfrost and investigate the cities underworld, to which he would disturbingly find little of. Ayrien and Adalon would take in the sites of the city as would Ismaril and Sildenar. Longwei would make inroads with lord Anars kitchen staff offering gifts and making requests for deserts for dinner. A'lar would eventually find the Lady Asuri who agreed to dine with the Scales and hear their request. While this was happening, Anar would report into the cities council of Elders concerning these guests.
As the evening approached a fine meal was prepared in the estate of Lord Anar to host the Lady Asuri. A'lar and the scales would present their case concerning the need to change the nature of Dragons and the hope that the spirit known as the Lady of the Wood, being close to the goddess Ilmaren would offer insight. The Lady Asuri would agree to consider their request, after a lovely evening she would depart and the scales would set out to enjoy various aspects of the cities nightlife. In the morning the Scales would be offered the oportunity to venture into the wood and seek their answers if they would agree to a Gease ritual that would prevent them from ever discussing with the outside world what they would find within, they agreed.
