Session 3: Save the Eggs! Report

General Summary

"Just a moment" Ambasador Sildanaer would say, his eyes glowing with energy as those connected to his psionic bond would become encased in ectoplasmic energy. "You all look strong, but the Giant is stronger, this may help turn his axe's edge from you." Indalell still shrouded in A'lars magic would move ahead of Adalon and try to get in position to ambush the Ogres while A'lar attempted to distract them with one of his illusions. The illusion had no affect, but Indallels blades did, cutting an Ogre down as Adalon and the others rushed in to dispatch the second, Merialeths arrows downing the second, but not before the rest noticed. Two ogres were in the pit below moving eggs into a circle of magic for which the elf was enchanting over, above the Ogre Leader and the Giant turned to deal with the party.

Aryien and the Starlight guard Rushed forward to form a defensive line against the Ogres, Adalon and Indalell moving to either Flank them or leap down into the hatchery below. Holvyt would start to move south passed the hatchery while A'lar conjured an illusion of Lord Curunis in all his glory to intimidate the Ogres. Ismaril not wishing to wait for a defensive action pushed thru the line her guards had made and as her eyes turned black as night, the minds of her enemies were flooded with terrors beyond comprehension. The Ogres above and the Giant frozen in place by the terror that only they could see. Indalell lepts down into the hatchery his blades sinking into a stunned ogre there before he landed with an uncerimonious thump. Adalaon and Longwei worked in unison, the massive curved blade cutting deep into the terrified ogre as Longweis fist rose shattering his jaw and driving crushed bone into brain mass. Aryien and the Starlight guard pushed in watching the others leap to action, and began to cut down the Ogre leader, despite his terrored state his armor was thick and his body strong. A'lar would now move to follow Holvyt as she seemed to avoid the battle to open a secret passage back to the front of the hatchery hoping to get aide from Council Guards that must be near.

As the Ogres began to shake the terror from their Minds, Adalon teleported to the hatchery pit to move upon the Elf mage as Indalell picked himself up to slay the remaining ogre there. The mage seeing time was up himself moved thru whatever magic was allowing him to teleport the eggs out and the circle began to shrink behind him. Longwei would turn his fists upon the Ogre Captain felling him, as the Starlight guard cut down the last ogre, and Aryien moved to contend with the massive frost Giant. Adalon seeing the mage escape strode up the ramp to fight with the Giant striking to remove the axe from his hands, still trembling from the fear. Indalell next rushed forward to sink his blades into the Giant but, having regained its wits, a massive booted foot instead kicked out slamming Indalell in the face, nearly incapacitating him. Longwei would shift back throwing his Shurikens into the giants face, and tho they stuck they seemed to phase the beast. Ismaril shrouded herself in her aura of fear and ran sliding between the giants legs to get behind him, while A'lar created another illusionary monster to assail the giant. Aryien and the Crystal guard would cut and stab at the giant with varying levels of success, the Giant would bend low to collect his axe taking several more blows from those all around him before swinging in a devestating arch to Aryien who dodged aside just in time. Darting blades and slashing strikes delivered from the party as more blood would pour from the wounded Giant, Ismaril would take a defensive posture, her eyes once more turning black as she projected a telekentic force into the giants mind. The Giant not seeing her vulnerable state would raise his axe to cut into Aryien again, but as his axe raised his eyes rolled back into his head and his legs buckled as he fell, landing on a Starlight guard crushing several of his ribs, screaming his comrade and others would pull him from beneath the giant and attempt to heal him.

As the battle ended Lord Curunis and his Council guard would rush to the scene finding the enemies dispatched, "Well, thank you for your service this day" he would commend the party "but we shall take it from here" as they moved to put the wounded Ogre champion in irons. Adalon and others offered assistance in the ogres interogation to which the Councilst leader denied and moved to promptly ignore the objections. A'lar would step forward "My Lady Curunis it would such a shame if I had to spin such a tale to not only the council failure to defend the Ary hatchery but also how secretive and ungreatful you were to those who aided you." With a frown the Lady Curunis would agree to allow two members of the group present, before quickly leaving with her husband and guards. Indalell would slip away from the group and vanish into the shadows as the Council Guard left. Ismaril would take her wounded guardsmen and move to get the ambasador to safety while the others moved back to the mayhem of the festival area and began to help where they could. A'lar would find his sister, mysterious absent for the attack from the rebells and make some pointed inquiries that lead to a few exchanges of words but no serious information about the missing Starfall servants and the attack.

That Evening Adalon and A'lar would go to the Council Guard barracks and jails to attend the interogation of the Ogre Leader. The Ogre had little to offer other then they were hired by a different elf in the northern forests for the attack and were promised a great reward for stealing as many eggs as possible. A'lar would take the opportunity on their way out to inquire among the captured rebell attackers. While he was given a few leads on his orc suspect for the kindappings, eventually Lord Curunis had them both removed. Having arranged to meet the next evening at the First steps, the party retired to their own affairs until the appointed time.
