Session 4: Teleportation, Treason, and Plot Report

General Summary

Assembling at the appointed time at the First Steps the group began to review the interrogations and make plans for the next steps. A'lar replayed the events of the interrogation his illusions re enacting them in a fairly dramatic theater style. Lord Curunis was exceptionally ill favored in the retelling in both appearance and attitude. Indalel added to the discussion a drawing of the elf who had hired the Giants and Ogres, leaving many to wonder how he was able to get close enough to the prisoners to attain such information. The conclusion was drawn that the Frost Blood Clan is ill likely to be behind these dealings, while they have worked with both Giants and Ogres before, they have hardly if any elves amongst them. The Summer elf who hired them had the look of someone from Clan Aureate, a gold dragon clan, and the Elf in the tunnels a former Winter Elf, tho few exist among Clan Aureate. The debate upon how to proceed dealing with investigating another clan ensued, however for now it seemed more prudent to discover more information from the Anti Dragonists, and their attack which happened to coincide with the attack from the Giants.  

Lady A'varia suggested that as most present seemed to be psions of various prominent houses aligned with removing the council, that they should form a task force to investigate this matter on behalf of the families, with the oversight and participation of one of Amaranthis closest Allies, in Clan Star Light. As this was agreed, Idalel brought forward the information that he had found the artist who had been making the calling cards, a tattooist from the Rat Market who likely had some criminal world connections. As a plan was being formed to investigate this individual, a commotion was made downstairs.  

A cadre of Council Guard were escorting the Lady Curunis who had taken the center stage. A'lar projected his illusion to greet her, and cuatiously see what this was about. As she made it clear she was here to reward the heros of the Hour, A'lar hurried downstairs. The rest reluctantly followed, as they were ushered upon the stage by the Guard. Lady Curunis made a stirring speech to the bravery of these members of various families and foreign guests, who selfless protected the council and its wards, the eggs of all clans. her speech resonated with the people, and the group was uncomfortably made champions and heroes of the council to the people, much to many of their annoyance. Kaylessa Curunis gave each a medal of valor in thanks for their work, and went to make her exit. A'lar as she passed would speak in a low voice "Well played my lady" to which she would smile a victorious smile.  

The medallions would grant a boon of protection to the champions, thou Adalon did not trust in this and upon returning to his family on the night of the New Years festival would have it inspected. While it held no further harmful magic, it was imbued with powerful psionic amplification making it easier for any who could read thoughts to hear the wearers thoughts. In the afternoon he would relay this to the others before they set out to investigate the tattoo artist. Ismaril and Indalel entered the shop posing as affluent customers and Ismaril planed a tattoo of the constellation she was born under with the Artist, while Indalel chatted up the thugs hanging around. Outside Ayrien and A'lar posed as a couple shopping at the neighboring clothing boutique, while Longwei and Adalon patrolled the area keeping vigilant eyes. As the design was narrowed down with Ismaril, two hooded figures entered the shop, passing something to the artist they were ushered into the back. With a later date set to get the tattoo Ismaril and Idalel made their exit, but not before Indalel bumped into the artist, feigning being upset at his flirtation wit Ismarila and lifted the passed item. The thugs shouted stopping Indalel accusing him of lifting something. Indalel however was able to diffuse the situation and convince them it was harmless and he had taken nothing, the group departed and rejoined up at the Last Steps. The Lifted item was another calling card, with the symbol of a cockatrice and the Queen of Hearts. The group decided to due some solo investigating of the area before returning in subsequent days to act upon their gathered information.
