Session 30: Transitions Report
General Summary
In the aftermath of the upheaval in Amarantine, the Scales set about to tying up lose ends and trying to bring stability to the city. Adalon however would first bring the body of Neia to the Temple at Times End. There he would plead with the Chronarch Niniel to perform a ritual to return Neias soul to the mortal realm. The Chronarch would ply question as to fates intent, satisfied with Adalons responses she would agree to raise Neia from the dead. The ritual would go well and the young squire would blink awake confused as to what had happened. Given assurance from all those present, Neia would take some leave to collect herself from the experience of her death and resurrections. Adalon and Ayrien would next go to Drakon Roost to find the last hold outs of the City Guard who refused to leave their garrison and have been more or less besieged within. Gaining admitance to speak with their commander, a gruff dwarf, Adalon asked what peace would take and for this situation to end. The dwarf would press him for several offers but finding none, the dwarf would in turn ask, "Let my men keep their arms and armor, take our families, our belongings, and leave this place. We want nothing to do with the treason against the dragons that is occurring here, we shall leave and find a new home, be it among others or the wilds." Adalon would take this offer before the Council of 7 that was being formed in the freshly named, "Serene Republic of Amaranthis."
Indalell, appearing in his usual form would meet the elf who he had turned from the Councilists at the Serenity Spa. Not knowing him in this face he would ply at Idryaia as she was called, offering a job from his "boss" Indigo. She was careful in their negotiations but Indalell was keen to lean upon her betrayal and that could be most troublesome for her. In the end she would agree to work for this "Indigo" for a fair price for someone of her skill set. Next he would take the visage of his halfling and visit Auretus to meet with their queen. Being given a quick audience on such short notice he would be brought to a private tea room where they would discuss the ongoing civil war and the raids into her territory. Aide from this new "Republic" would be most welcomed in dealing with either of Auretes current woes.
A'lar and Longwei would venture to meet with the freshly apprehended Lady Curunis. Upon their entry to her cell she would be ardently writing letters to be delivered to others in the city. While obviously ignoring A'lar, he would patiently wait while slightly poking at her feigned disregard. She would finally sigh and turn to him, "What is it you want." A'lar would smile and in his usual high spirited banter, "A strong Amaranthis and an Ioban at peace of course dear lady, and for you to be an active part of it!" She would somewhat dead pan in response, "That was the entire purpose of the council established for millennia that you have removed in a few weeks time." A'lar would nod, "Yes but it was failing, I am not sure it ever actually succeeded ever, and now is the time to change that." This would continue well into the hour with A'lar making some headway but the Lady perhaps not yet convinced. As they went to leave Longwei would stop out of step, causing A'lar to look back. "Are we not going to speak to Lord Curunis?" A'lar would seem puzzled but shrug, "If you think we should." Longwei would give a solemn nod, "I do." A'lar would offer a similar pitch as the lady but leaning more on Ivassar's sense of duty to the realm. The Lord Curunis seemed much more moved then his lady wife from this interaction.
Ismaril would spend her day in the library of Times End after the resurection ritual. Focusing on many occult works and histories of the region trying to find any signs of what the Ruthenia invaders would be interested in payment from Clan Dark Grove. While she was locked away with books, the Adalon and A'lar would meet with the council of 7. A'lar would convince the government that a Council of 8 should be established and to give its seat to Lady Curunis, that if a majority could not be found on any matter they should not be moving forward anyway. Lastly the council would wish to learn more of the Dwarf Generals plans before agreeing to send him and his people out of the territory, as a stalling measure and an olive branch, messengers and communication between the dissident guard and their families were allowed in the meantime.
